Title: G80-1000/HBU Connection Problems
Post by: terrpn on Sat, 23 December 2017, 19:29:20
My above keyboard will not talk to either of my Windows 10 machines with 2 different converters? Dip is set to PC, however just get a couple lights and nothing else. Anybody have any suggestions............ :-\

All of my other older boards still communicate with the converters I have been using for years :thumb:

Where the DIP switch is set to "PC", what alternatives are there? Where is this DIP switch?

It is underneath or the back side and is set to PC? Might try buying another converter, but other than that I don't know what to do with it? I took it apart and everything is soldered tight and clean. I was a mechanic at 1 time and electronics are not my strong suit-- might need to find a Jedi on the Forum to send to and trouble shoot?

If I push CAPS, etc. I just get an intermittent light :-\

Merry Christmas!!

What alternatives are there to "PC"?

The idea that any G80-1000 keyboard has DIP switches is new to me, and I'm not seeing any suggestion that this is true, so I have to wonder what exactly you've even got there.

"PC" could mean "XT", in which case there could be an "AT" alternative (which would be what you'd want if this were the case), but it could be "PC" as in PC vs Mac/Amiga/Sun/anything else.
