Title: GON 108 PCB testing failed on all.
Post by: metro1980 on Thu, 28 December 2017, 16:55:39
Third keyboard building - previous two succeed.

Bought a Gon Nerdy 108 full size PCB v1.5 (latest).

Both Windows 10 and NerDy GUI recognize it as a device, can detect firmware 2.2, and a save of remap seemed working.

However, if I test it using keyboardtester.com or simply a notepad, by short the switch contacts, no input could be detected. Does it mean something broken with the PCB, or GON has some special set ups? PCB is connected directly to motherboard. Thanks to any input.

It won't fix your problem but this tool (https://elitekeyboards.com/switchhitter.php) might help you test.

Thanks for the info, that tool did not work.

To fix my problem, should I solder in the diodes? On Gon's website, it was stated the diodes are [recommended] for nerd PCB.

What should I do to get it work - I hope to know the problem before start soldering.

Thanks again.

You need diodes to make it work. That's how the technology works.
