Title: Switches getting less smooth after lubing. Have I done something wrong?

I'm using the GH v4 thick lube, which I bought from Zeal (https://zealpc.net/collections/accessories/products/ghlube (https://zealpc.net/collections/accessories/products/ghlube)), to lube my Zeal 78g switches. However, after lubing, the switch is getting less smooth than not being lubed. I used a very small amount to lube the sides of the stem and the housing as well as top and bottom of spring.
Is this the right lube for switches? Or did I do something wrong?
