Title: Retooled MX Red switches on POK3R
Post by: 19MODL on Mon, 15 January 2018, 19:58:48
I've been thinking of getting a vortex Pok3r for a long while now, but I HEAVILY favor gateron red's smoothness over MX red (as many do on this forum). However, I came across a year-old thread about Cherry's retooled MX red switches:

tl;dr as of a year ago, Cherry permanent replaced their red switches with a much smoother version.

My question is, if I were to order a non-RGB vortex pok3r from mechanicalkeyboards.com now, what are the chances that I'll get a kb with the new red switches?  :-X

Ask to the owner of the website? If they can't recognize the retooled switches, they should close the shop.
If you learn to solder, you can make your own keyboard for 100 USD, if you get a 10 USD case from AliExpress.

I find that plastic cases are more silent and nicer than the aluminium ones. The keyboard doesn't move and feels solid anyway. Plus you can change case with each keyset.
