Post by: proto on Thu, 01 February 2018, 18:21:39
hi,
Does anyone know of an RGB PCB that works with the 1up TKL 2 plate case? (https://1upkeyboards.com/diy-tkl-2-plate-keyboard-kits-cf-black.html)
Thanks!

What kind of leds are you looking for, beside these?

Fancy LED Mods: Supports In-Switch Backlight Full LED, On-PCB Backlight LED, and Side LED

Please keep me updated, I'm very intersted in your build.

1upkeyboards TKL isn't very good, it's bad at protecting the PCB, and it's generally not very good looking, and it doesn't sound good either

I think you'd be a lot better off buying the kbdfans 8x (https://kbdfans.myshopify.com/collections/keyboard/products/gbkbdfans-8x-mechanical-keyboard-kit) kit

it doesn't have RGB, but then again most kits don't

the only PCB that matters with RGB in-switch LEDs is the zeal60, and that's not a TKL PCB

there are a few others but they're not programmable

come on you should know better than to recommend GON PCBs from his site, he's a scammer

Thanks!

It's designed around a clone of Winkeyless's B.87 PCB, so an original or any of the clones would work. Look specifically for a USB connector on the left side of the PCB when looking at top.

I'm an idiot. GON's is the only board I know of that puts the USB there. Most are the left (Winkeyless, clones) or centered (Leeku)

The Gon keyboard is available on the 1up site.

nah, the USB is in the right spot, but it's on the bottom of the PCB, whereas standard placement is on the top
