Title: Is Prusa i3 3D capable of printing keycaps?
Post by: ceiusk on Sat, 03 February 2018, 07:13:21
Hello makers, I'm interested in making my own custom keycaps with 3D printing and I do have a plan of buying a Prusa i3 printer but there's one problem. I've been wandering here and there in search of answer for the question mentioned in the subject of this topic but I have yet to come across any at all. That's why I'm making this topic to ask you guys if you have ever tried this one yet and how the result'd come out.

P.s: this is my first post, hopefully I didn't post it in the wrong section.

Welcome to GH :)

We were discussing this (again) in the making stuff together section a while back.

Tuned in correctly you'll be able to get something passable, but don't expect anything close to perfection.
Wobbly switches may also feel a bit gritty because of the stem rubbing the switch housing.

Using a 3d printing service like shapeways you'll be able to get some awesome results which you can then paint or have keypressgraphics.com paint them for you.
