Have you considered asking for a return/refund?
I wonder how the fake compares to the OEM model. I assume the real frustration comes from it being priced higher than what a fake would be though.

It cost $30 more than the off-brand..
More so feelz , :: Depressed :: , vs angry at the price..
Also, Not super sure want to TEST it out at high load.. because if it overcurrents, there goes my laptop..

Messaged the seller..
Fingers Crossed.. !!
But, i mean, what's he going to do, it's so obviously fake.
now, Do I leave a bad review and xpose the fraudster ?
He's just tryn' to feed his kids, wife, and side-girl... same as anyone else..
Sigh.......

Firstly I'd try to get the refund by making the case to eBay that it was sold as genuine but is counterfeit. It's difficult with Asian sellers though, they typically don't want to refund the full amount (or with conditions like you send the whole thing back at your cost and then they'll consider it, so most don't bother). If escalated to a case eBay should see reason. Worse scenario is just leave negative feedback warning it's a fake. They can't leave negative feedback on your side anyway.

Well, what's the ebay etiquette here..
Don't be a d1(|< is in effect ?
If he doesn't refund me, Do i leave a bad review ?
If he refunds me, Do i leave a ~Good review, or No Review ?
If he trys to cheets Tp4, and Ebay sides with Tp4, Does Tp4 leave bad review ?

If he doesn't refund initially, open a case to bring ebay into it.
I think ebay will prevent you from giving a review once refunded, never had a refund without opening a case, so unsure about this.
I know if you open up a case, ebay will prevent you from giving a review, know from experience. It is their policy to prevent that after the situation is "fixed", so you can't warn people unfortunately...

pretty much all amazon marketplace or ebay batteries are either aftermarket or fakes..
I'd say you're better off looking for decent reviews (watch out for the fake reviews) aftermarket battery.

Allow me to explain...
Did you get a battery? Yes. Therefore it's a genuine battery as opposed to a fake battery. It's stupid, but this is how you need to read the word genuine on Ebay.
What you want is OEM.
Also, not brand, because your battery is for a Lenovo branded laptop, branded means they printed Lenovo on it. And yes, it's a scam, you can't tell me after thousands sold and x number of complaints it hasn't been explained to them, but the language barrier offers them an excuse. Not only that but many of these guys have dozens of accounts all doing the same thing.

Got Refunded..
Took battery sticker off..
Cells read ICR18650 26C..
These are 3.7 nominal @ 2600 mAh..
WHICH MEANS.... all 9 cells only provide 7800mAh.. which is LESS than the Official lenovo 9 cell @ 8400mAh.
The official cells should be using 2800mAh Cells, if samsung, should be the ICR18650-28A
//Maximum Anger Mode.. !!!!

You didn't read the fine print.
-
I keep telling you, Chinese math...
OEM Battery - 8400mah
Ebay Battery label - 7950
Cell label - 7800
My bet on the actual capacity... about 7000, but only for a short time because the internal chemistry is bad and unstable, because China.
Care to bet the true battery capacity?
My money is on something around 7000, or a little over 10% more than the 6 cell.

I suspect the counterfeit battery's controller is outputting fake info to the Pc side lenovo battery app.
I would need to purchase a legit New battery to compare..
This is proving more difficult than first thought.
