Title: 3D printing for kailh low profile
Post by: ju6ju8Oo on Tue, 13 February 2018, 22:46:30
Is it hard to 3D print a keycap for kailh low profile pg1350 because of the stem? Anyone tried this?  :)

When I made ML stems (similar to the 1350) out of resin I found it necessary to reinforce the stem with wire before casting. Unfortunately you can’t do that in 3D printing. Was your problem strength or was it too small to print?

I haven't printed one yet. But I feel the stem will be too thin for 3d printing.

I'd just buy it here and save the headache.  :P

Yes, but that would be the easy way. 😁

Actually, that is a good choice if you want a flat top cap. I prefer a more sculptured cap but that one certainly minimizes total height.
