If anyone is looking to convert their 5251 Beamspring into something a little more ergonomic as I did with mine, this top case is your ticket. The seller is accepting offers as well.

Yeah, I know it's a bit odd, but I love this thing so much that I haven't used anything else for about the past 6 months. ;D

I think he just means a smaller, more manageable case—not changing the actual layout, as one might infer from such a statement.

Wow, nice project! I don't think it's "odd" at all, just creative. And as long as you've preserved the original case somewhere (I can't imagine anyone just discarding it), what's to complain about? Seems to me, everyone's a winner. Of course, this is just me commenting on someone else's keeb-using habits, which is considered entertainment here in the suburbs.

Wow, cool idea! I already have the XT case top. Now I just need the 5251 Beamspring...

Now the same guys have listed an XT case bottom (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-IBM-Model-F-PC-XT-Buckling-Spring-Keyboard-BACK-PLATE-ONLY/273100359376) too. Maybe they're going to list the whole board a piece at a time, figuring they can get more for it that way.
Reminds me of the story about the guy who worked at a car plant and built himself a free car by taking home one part every day.
