Terminal keyboard.

1395665 is for 3477/3488, apparently.

I do find the misrepresentation interesting though lol

I especially like the closeup of the Otaku ESC button.   Where do I get one of those??    :thumb:

On any terminal keyboard :)

A fairly decent number of keys on most layouts have no assigned function and so have blank keycaps.

Oh, whoops, that's just missing the keycap entirely. D'oh.

Thanks to idiots on Ebay, "new" just doesn't have the same meaning it once did. If I buy something that is listed as new, and it arrives in less than perfect condition, the seller gets dinged. No exceptions.

I'd let them know I was dissatisfied. With cheaper items they'll sometimes just do a refund and let you keep it in the name of customer service/not hurting their rep.

If they then failed to comply with the implied request for financial reimbursement, then they get dinged.

I've never dinged anyone on ebay for fear of reper-dinging??   I know they changed the rules though.

Everyone has a different opinion of new, or like new, or kinda sorta but not really new??    Photos help, but don't always paint the true picture.

I'm OCD and every keyboard I get (that I want to keep)  has been disinfected, sanitized and completely clean out.    But that's me.....

I think I'll lowball one. The terminal keycaps are cool and it should be easy enough to swap in a PCB from a standard Model M.

I give sellers a lot of leeway when they describe something as used. I can tolerate a bunch of dirt/grit/whatnot, a few blemishes here and there... the usual. New? That's a  different matter altogether. For hardware, if you've done anything other than open the box and play with it for a few minutes, it's not new. In the case of media, if the wrapper is off it is most definitely not new.

I have to laugh at a lot of these keyboard listings that tack "NIB" on the end, when the keyboard is obviously used, and doesn't even come with the original box.

I wonder if you could simply order terminal keycaps from Unicomp??   I would try anyway.   Call and ask for Chuck Cropper.   Super nice guy to deal with and very knowledgeable.

Ewwww......... "New" pubes on a keyboard.

I would like to think that those are curvy chin whiskers??   But maybe someone was scratching/itching while typing.....

I don't think they're intentionally marking it as new...chances are it was a mistake. Nobody in their right mind would look at that and think "new", and I doubt the seller would think they could fool people considering the photos they provided. It's probably a carry over from stealing someone else's listing format or something.

Doesn't make it any more right though. PayPal for example would settle a claim in favour of the buyer if it was filed over being not as described.

At least the pictures are big and clear.

What I hate is a tiny, out-of-focus thumbnail sized picture along with a description like "clean!" "fresh" or "good condition"... It arrives looking like someone with a rare lung disorder has been hacking up phlegm and eating bacon bits over it for a decade.

Jesus, I feel sick now.  I buy new these days.  I just don't have the stomach for used anymore.

That's great!!   I swear my last keyboard had a bag of hairy trail mix dumped in there.    I double gloved to clean that one.
