Looks like we could get KBDFans to back it if enough people are interested. Color me interested.

You can see their comments at the bottom of this page. This was a 10 board batch but they might be able to do a bigger run if more people are interested. Not sure where we could express our interest.

I thought the appeal of the Kishsaver was that it was capacitive buckling spring? Otherwise, it's just a garishly huge case with any 60% PCB.
But that's just like, my opinion, man.

If kbdfans can pull this case off in their usual price range (cheap and solid ala 5degree) I would be really interested. The aesthetics do it for me, I am a sucker for big cases and lots of bevels. Until then, modelfkeyboards.com is still my man (beautiful work and well worth the money by the looks of it).
I will keep watching the kbdfans thread though. :)

It was a private GB. They might run it again in China if if the interest is there, but it does't really seem like it. We'll see if KBDfans takes over, though.

Oh I've been in elipse's group buy for 2 years now and I'm certainly looking forward to a brand new model F one day. However, the aesthetics of the kish have been on the top of my list since day 1 of this hobby. The ability to put spherical caps (thinking dev/tty) on a board like this... probably having it painted or cerakoted beige or industrial gray. It's hard to beat that look in my books.

I'm a big fan of large, well-designed bezels. I'm not expecting this to be a huge draw to the mainstream, but more of a collector's item.

I figured that was the situation. A man can dream, though. :)

Is this from Ellipse's manufacturer selling extra reproduction Kishsaver cases on the side? It seems quite...coincidental.

no
these look nothing like those
and if you've seen the internals, a modern flat switchplate won't really work with those

I think the appeal of it (having watched people go from 0-65,535mph in excitement over it from the start) is that they're 60% keyboards, exceptionally rare novelty items as far as mass produced things go, were produced 30 years ago (+/-), and are capacitive buckling spring, when previously, the closest anyone came to thinking this existed was this guy attached (unless I'm mistaken, this image originated from ClickClack, and never was identified).
