Hello all,
I decided to try and see if it was possible to add another level of custom to my keyboard and engrave my own tag onto the switch housings. The result was as follows!
Engraving Samples

Please do note that the positioning of the engraving isn't going to be the final place it goes. For the finished pieces it will sit where the GATERON lettering currently is.
I would really appreciate any feedback you have on this idea and if you would like to see it become available for a Group Buy! The current information I can give is the following:
Same switch top as used in Zeal switches.
Pricing is waiting on confirmation from engraving company will update ASAP.
I will provide the housing tops.

Do you have any idea about cost? Just a ballpark estimate, if you have one.

I'm at work currently and am ohinging the company when I finish in 2 hours.

This is some next level endgame material. I'm not sure how this would play out for a full-sized keyboard though. Would you mold your own "blank" housings and then engrave, or would you just engrave over the Gateron logo?

This is something I am curious about as well as I personally think engraving over the manufacturer's logo wouldn't turn out so hot. I filled out the IC form as I am interested in a batch of these. Although I would personally like to see the option of having the engraving done in a few different spots on the top housing if that's feasible. I actually like the area you had engraved for the samples TBH. On top where the manufacturer's logo usually is would be nice, but I would only want that if you can source blank top housings.

I would be sanding down the current logo to the point where you couldn't tell it was there to start with. The structure of the housing isn't changed through any of the process.

Filled out but would there be an option for me to just get one switch engraved? This could be really useful to help with finding one of my travel boards if I loose it somewhere.

I think that would work out pretty good, didn't even think about removing the manufacturer's logo. :thumb:

These are the test housings I gave to the company to test with. Two sanded one stock.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180314/5651cd83dc43d1320907b6deff1afacc.jpg)
