Hi guys I知 new here! I posted a photo of my Corsair cherry MX keyboard (red LEDs) to r/mechanicalkeyboards on reddit and everyone was saying that it was rare because of the blue part to it! I was wondering why the blue part makes it rare and how much you think I could sell it for (not looking to sell just wondering :)
Take a look
THANKS :D

If I remember correctly, Corsair stopped selling the MX Blue version (this is the type of switch) suddenly, which is why it's deemed "rare".
Unfortunately, it doesn't mean it's any more expensive than the others on the pre-owned market.

MX switches are not rare. This is still a mass produced keyboard, in about 50 years sure.....

But they didn't make very many at all because the mx blue version had lot's of problems there is very few out there

This is just a Corsair with MX Blues. It's uncommon because Corsair stopped making some of their keyboards with MX Blues due to quality control issues so they are just uncommon.
It's nothing special honestly since you can buy a lot of backlit MX Blue (or equivalent blue switch) for brand new for not very much nowadays.

Also you could by one that wasn't MX Blue and change the switches. /s

Another thing to keep in mind is the demand for a rare product. Because MX Blues are so common, there isn't much demand for a Corsair board with non-standard bottom row. It would be a different story if the switches were MX Orange or something like that.

It is kinda rare (for the reasons already stated by everyone else here) as it stands, but not very valuable or sought after right now. I would just make sure to keep in it good shape & hold on to it. Never know, maybe 20 yrs. down the line these could become highly sought after for one reason or another.

lol I think I would say just use it normally as you would and don't worry about it.

We might not even still be using keyboards in 20 years... :p

I'd say probably $50 or $60 if you could even find someone that wanted it.

This is hilarious. Reading "rare keyboard" conjures images of vintage keyboards with thick double shots or maybe pristine OG PBT keys with rare layouts, or the more awesome switches ever.

It's like he is a seller on Ebay that is trying to sell a rubber dome board "RARE! One of a Kind! Clicky Won't find another one like this"
-
Haha, the eBay sellers are occasionally not wrong about having a rare board but rarity alone doesn't give something value, just like the keyboard in question.
-
Well I知 not a keyboard enthusiast but you guys sure know what your talking about! Thanks!
