Post by: Tom_Kazansky on Thu, 05 April 2018, 23:59:16
Hi!
Today I'm surfing around and and saw this:

Elecom "DEFT PRO" Trackball

http://www2.elecom.co.jp.e.gj.hp.transer.com/products/M-DPT1MRBK.html

it seems this is an upgrade of "DEFT" Trackball with dual mode wired/wireless and re-arranged buttons.

the price is a bit crazy (17,780 JPY)
but I'm excited  ;D

What do you think?

I think the logitech Ergo is a better shape, because it's like a vertical mouse..

But I can't tell if this one can be tented as well...

Overall..

What will be interesting is if logitech will license out their new Hero sensor to other producers..

I'd expect all other wireless logitech product lines to use that sensor.

It's really a game changer..

500 hrs on 2 double AA batteries @ 1000hz report rate.. with tracking speeds as good as the Pixart 3366/3360

Nothing on the market can beat that.

I don't think the current logitech ergo has the hero sensor, but I'm sure the next ones will.

Just recently, I bought Logitech Ergo, the tenting is nice, the shape, I would say, is a fit for my hand. Though I gave it to my cousin who want a vertical mouse and he said he want to try trackball.

About the DEFT Pro, surely I don't think it can be tented. It can be used wired / wireless / bluetooth but I'm not sure it can switch between devices like the Logitech Ergo (would be nice if it can).

There is the switch to change between wireless and bluetooth near the wheel. Not like the MX Ergo.
