Hey All,
Jammer here! I just did my intro post over here (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=95047.0).
Since I need a numpad I'm largely limited to full size for a lot of my work (Software engineer / Video / Photo), as I don't like the idea of a separate numpad.
I just bought a Ducky Shine 6 (really loving it) but just found this baby - The Kira (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lekashman/kira-mechanical-keyboard)! Wow.
This would be the perfect keyboard with a UK layout! Drool ... with all that said I think I might get one, it's so damn close to perfect to ignore.
Gahhhhhhhh, first day here and I'm hemorrhaging cash already!!! RUN AWAY!!!!!
I'll be in the corner mumbling if you need me ...

Curb your enthusiasm.
Also, the Kira is not the only keyboard in the market with that 96 layout. There are others that can you get without having to wait until Oct (heh).

Snigger.

you may have gotten bit by the bug! :))
The Budget96 (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=93616.0) might be to your liking? The options are pretty vast when it comes to 96s. Just look around on the GB and IC sections of the site and your wallet will be hurting in no time.
Welcome to the show

I've been wanting this form factor for a while but now that I've been buying keycaps I can't imagine what Base+Modifier+Numpad+Colemak+Extra Modifiers is going to cost me to populate this board. @_@ So pretty though.
If it had hot-swappable sockets I'd be broke for the next month haha

The Espectro may be what you're looking for. I joined the GB for 2 but I'm actually gonna be selling them as soon as I receive them lol. Hopefully they come through soon.

It love the Kira's layout. It's like my Leopold FC980M's layout but without any space between keys.

Is there an alternative to the Kira with a similar layout? I've been tempted to get the Vortex Vibe as well but it doesn't have all the features I'd like.
The 3 most important things I need is:
60%+Numpad layout
Programmable (using Colemak)
Hot Swap (Would love to throw in some Navy Blues without the hassle of desoldering and resoldering)
Bonus features that are not deal breakers:
RGB
Function row
Optional dedicated arrows
Anybody know of a keyboard that checks the first 3 criteria?

Programmable is not an issue (lot's of programmable boards), but there really aren't that many boards on the market with built-in hot swap support and the 60% + numpad layout isn't really that common. So if you need both of those...I don't think there's anything.
You're best bet would be to get some like the Vibe as a kit and add holtites. Assuming that's even possible...they don't worth well with every PCB.

The UK78 is what you're looking for. I remember someone saying the person who ran the original GB is going to do another one this year.

I will definitely have to keep an eye out on that one.

I just pre-order this as well!! The hotswappable switch feature is what really sold me, plus the design is really nice as well :)
