Title: Some Devlin Keycap Pics
Post by: UKKeycaps on Wed, 11 April 2018, 12:49:38
I thought I would showcase some of the keycaps that have been produced in conjunction with Devlin, another UK company, so far:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q-Series Skidata:

This set had some issues during production, such as 2.25u and 2.75u key sizes having to be produced in QS profile instead. A DSA spacebars were used for all sizes except 6u since Devlin does not have the correct moulds for other sizes. This keyset was sold as a group-buy on MechSupply, but due to the issues, all customers were refunded. The keyset was then made available on UKKeycaps at a low price and has now sold out. This keyset will not be re-run unless tooling is produced for at least the 2.25u key size.

K-Series Rad-Away/Retroist

Run as a group-buy on MechSupply the same time as Skidata, this Planck keyset also faced some rather large issues. Originally marketed as a dark forest green, the keyset was actually produced in a lighter mint green due to Devlin providing incorrect RGB values. Customers were refunded and the keyset was re-named to Retroist and made available on UKKeycaps. The keyset was incredibly popular due to the amazing thickness of the keycaps and sold out quickly.

K-Series Aurora

Due to the popularity of Retroist, another K-Series set was produced, this time adding Preonic support. Aurora was made available as a group-buy on MechSupply with leftovers being sold on UKKeycaps. The keyset is now sold out.

Q-Series Pennine

Pennine is the first Q-Series set since Skidata and all previous mistakes have been learnt from. Pennine is based on the keyset used on Pennine point-of-service keyboards produced by Devlin. Colour samples and legends were carefully checked before the group-buy commenced. Pennine features the original POS 'novelties' and added Ergodox support as a separate kit. Pennine is still available on MechSupply (http://www.mechsupply.co.uk/product/devlin-q-series-pennine-planck-preonic-ergodox-keyset) and will be shipping in early May
