Title: Your thoughts on Youth Football (Hand Egg)?
Post by: tp4tissue on Tue, 17 April 2018, 09:49:11

99% of NFL players having brain damage ..

Is it the Physicist's fault for not properly explaining football to the general public..??

Water Balloon = Brain
Wood box = Skull

Balloon in the box,  kick it down a hill,   That's football. !!

No amount of padding helps, because the brain is too soft to not be damaged by jutting changes in momentum. (impulse force)

Should America Switch to Soccer.. ??

Everyone else already plays soccer ??

As much as I loved playing football growing up and on to college, I don't want my kids playing it. I'm incredibly lucky to have only suffered minor injuries without any substantial head injuries (that I'm aware of). I suffer daily from joint wear and tear though, and I'm only in my early twenties.

Some places have banned tackle football but there's no federal regulation of it.

They're working on it.

I think they're only aiming for a cut-off for now, like before a certain age, no (contact) football..

They're still allowed to play the tag versions.

I'm less concerned about the brain damage, and more concerned about the money siphoned off from public spending to build gigantic stadiums, and my god the adverts every ten seconds stretching 11 minutes of play to 3h12m.

Also the general rules and endless stat analysis makes it seem like a game invented by lawyers and accountants.

I never got into football but it's vastly superior to handegg.

The rules aren't ultimately that complicated, but people tend to make it overcomplicated. The analysis of the game is not unique to just football, there are just as many who analyze every stat right down to the dot for baseball, basketball, etc.

Hand Egg, aka "American Football" looks to me more like training the kids to become obedient soldiers on future battlefields than a game of skill.

"Here's a bomb^H^H^H^Hball. Run forward and place it in the enemy's camp. Don't think, just evade the guys trying to stop you. Let your offi^H^H^H^Hcoach handle the tactics".

Well, I'd expect keeb forum parents prolly teach their kids to play Dota instead.

Safe, @ home, cheap, low organizational cost, xtensive use and proximity to Keeb..

Dota / LoL  is the future of Sports
