Hi I'm wondering, if I buy gateron switches and solder them into a switch moddable plate/pcb, in future can I just change them by prying off the top and changing the spring and stem?
The same way as how Cherry MX switches now work with a switch moddable plate?
As far as I understand, it won't work with Outemu because Outemu tops can't be pried off easily. But I have never tried gaterons.

Yes, you can remove Gateron top housings using the same cutout in the plate as Cherry switches.

Can you also pry off their tops in the same way, using tweezers? It seems that gateron is using a different type of plastic, and I don't know how hard that type of plastic is.

i have a switch opener that opens Cherry switches like there is no tomorrow. But with gateron switches i have to press it more on the switch opener to get the housing open. So it's tougher then cherry but i don't how much more flexible the plastic is. But it's probably okay if you use 2 of those tweezers that people insert into the holes at the same time.
