I'd like to hear from you:
  • Any suggestions on the current design (e.g. slope, accent, weight, edges, rubber feet, plate).
  • Any features you want to add the the 80% keyboard (e.g. blockers, PCB, diffusers)


Sorry for the long absence. I've been very busy on some irl stuff.
I'd like to share with you some photos of a prototype I just received. There are some defects but overall the case turns out to be beautiful.

Also is the 1916 on the front going to be a raised badge or engraved?

Since Its name is "1916", a black/gold colour scheme would be great, this would make it look very old. I'm thinking of a black enamel finish (ackshully, any shiny finish will do the job) and a brass weight. Would be an insta buy for me. How about adding a few ornaments/embellishments? I don't know how this will affect the price though.

I like the asymmetrical top/bottom bezel with that slight relief!

I'm curious what the significance of 1916 is with this design?

I definitely don't need another TKL (Mars 8.0 emptied my wallet!), but this should be really nice if it's of similar quality!

I'll consider the color combination you mentioned if I'll make a prototype later. I don't have a source to do enamel finish tho. Will look into it.

It does, but at the same time I think the blocky aesthetic fits better with the theme you're going for

imo it doesn’t, especially as it doesn’t fit the name and the general theme - it looks too modern and edged enough for the rest of the board.

Really nice and clean. I don't like the font, but with it having an old skool theme and being called 1916, I can understand the choice.

Loving the prototype, especially the color and that tiny steps on the top piece, really differentiate from other TKL. The logo placement and size is spot on, classy and subtle. But what ticks me a bit is the font of the 1916, not a fan of it. Also I would like to know why does it called 1916? would like to hear the story.

- 1916 logo not being centered above the arrow pad might drive me crazy- I think it would look really cool centered, and with solid lines vertically-aligned with the text like: --- 1916 ---
- That weight design is awesome.
- I agree that this is a black/brass board. Needs to happen
- No, shouldn't have any LED indicators, doesn't match the theme
- No, the curved bottom design doesn't fit the theme, what's currently in the OP post is perfect
- I'm attaching images of my black & brass F&T board for reference
- Did you have to one-up the Mars 8.0!?? I just emptied my wallet
- Where am I going to find money for this
