To wit: I completely understand that bottoming out is anathema. I also understand that touch typing is essential, proper wrist support, all that. However, I like to pound the **** out of my keyboard. Simple as that. I like to rape the keys. I'm like Columbus: I land on a key and destroy it. I have a bunch of ****ty keyboards with mostly Outemu Blues that are always O-ringed (I have not tried double-Oing them yet), but I am about to get a GK64 strictly on the understanding I can swap the switches out and try anything I want. I need some good recommendations from people who know. Hence, my coming here.
I like no key wobble, and I don't mind clicks. So I will probably try out Kailh Box Navy just to give it a whirl. But what else is there? I know that dampening a box switch is for people with oligophrenia,to say the least, but I also o-ringed my HV-KB390L and it feels good. I don't care about the noise when I'm falling; I just care about the landing. I was thinking about trying Hako Clears (or Trues?) possibly in the future.
I'm a writer, not a gamer, so I'm constantly flying all over, especially with quotation marks and exclamation points. I smash them with my pointer finger, and still retain an ok typing speed (around 90). So what should I try? And do the keycap profiles, in your opinions, make a difference? I have only messed with OEM and Cherry (and these weird low-profile ones I am on now, which are close cousins to chiclets), but I will eventually get to DSA's for sure, at least for that Combat set Signature Plastics has.
Any suggestions would be cool, even if they take modding...or even illegal acts, as I have an arcane proclivity for.

I've seen experimenting to try and cushion the bottom out of Box switches by placing an o-ring in the bottom of the switch housing (essentially a trampoline mod), but they had to place it off center from the "pole" to not interfere with the spring.
If you like to bottom out, get yourself some good old fashioned Cherry Clears. The spring is designed to increase in resistance past the point of actuation/tactile bump.
Hako Clears/Trues are also supposed to good for this purpose, from what I've heard. (see here: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=94469.0)
Best experience I've had for bottoming out pleasure is lubed 65g Nopre (aka Plum's Topre competitor), though that will require you investing in a completely new setup and then domeswapping.

Seconded. If you like bottoming out, 55g Topre is amazing. I also like Ergo Clears for bottoming out for some reason.

I was considering this, but for aesthetic reasons I do not like the way Realforces look, so I was considering a Leopold. I like smaller keyboards--number pads and Fn keys are useless to me--but everyone on this earth keeps referring to Realforce as being, well, real fxcking good. I saw a used Leopold for an ok price, but do I really want to buy a used Topre? Do the switches last a lifetime? And also, getting good keycaps for them is somewhat difficult, at least in comparison to the ubiquitous Cherry.
Oh, and another problem I just noticed: Leopold do not come in 55g. It seems 45g is the closest.

I don't find Topre particularly "hammer-y", to be honest. I think you'll find BOX Navy switches much more to your liking. Those are seriously stiff, and additionally reward you with a you click when you do hammer them!

Who doesn't bottom out when they type? Slow typists..that's it..
I'm not saying people should be encouraged to slam the hell out of keys but if you're not bottoming out, even just lightly, you're typing slower than you can....

I was using Cherry MX Gray's with some custom springs, the bottom out value was supposed to be similar on paper
Now I switched to actual MX Tactile Gray's, with default springs, lubed them with GPL207, installed some 3d printed switch stickers to prevent wobble, and I have to say, the bottoming out experience is beyond awesome, especially, the first week of using the keyboard was a very unique experience I'll remember for some time, when you first try them on an actual keyboard, they are noticeably heavy (also the lube washes down, reduces the weight/experience)
Yet the experience doesn't last, in a week, you get used to the new weight, and it's a regular keyboard, you only notice how awesome they are when you try another keyboard and the switches feel 0g

Ahh, yes, I was just telling my GF about you on Youtube, as heir apparent to "The Voice of God," previously held by Peter Thomas (Forensic Files) and the progenitor, John Facenda of NFL Films. That being said, seeing you post is not nearly as enjoyable. (I need a velvet-voiced translator.)
When it came to clicky it was between Matias Clicky or Box Navy....it's just that I like a soft landing too, so this is why I considered Topre. I still have no clue. I feel overwhelmed. I ordered one of those Kailh Box Switch Testers, to see and, most importantly, feel.
But as for sound, man, Matias Clicky and Topre are so fxcking soothing to me. It's unreal.

if you're on the fence and not sure what you're looking for, it might be worth attending a keyboardist meetup in your area sometime. People bring all kinds of stuff and you can test them all out. A switch tester gives you SOME indication, but typing on an actual board will help you a lot more ;) .

Definitely agree in regards to switch testers vs actual boards. I tried BOX Navy in a switch tester first and didn't see what the big deal was about in terms of the weighting, but then after trying them in a fully assembled board I concluded that they were a little too stiff for my tastes, in particular for my pinky fingers. And this is coming from someone who also loves to bottom out as they type. I will agree that compared to Topre they are a lot more FUN to type on due the very sharp tactile feel they provide. If you can't go to a meetup, you can just buy both and then sell whichever one you like the least, as both retain their value pretty well.
