Honestly, though, I really don't want to carry this thing around in public just because it screams GUNS. Just a street-smart thing, you really don't want people to think you have guns.

easily remedied by a big sticker that says "not guns" :))
Funny that if I saw this in Canada I would first think "camera gear" :p

weird... maybe it's where I live (NJ) but I've never seen people carrying cases like this and guns would not be the first thing I'd suspect if I saw this. I'll def keep your advice in mind if I'm ever in other parts of the US though

This case is overkill unless you go into a war zone with it :). I think a 60% sleeve is much better and also fits into your backpack.

I have a couple sleeves which I use for hhkb, but found they're not adequate for protecting heavy metal boards. too easy to dent a corner :(

You gonna carry an 800$ kustom in a sleeve or this thing?

Yeah why not. Also doesn't that defeat the purpose of the 60% making it not portable.

Paint it white and add a large red cross. People will think you have a human heart in there.

Portability is not the only reason to use 60% though tbh.

Brilliant. And would survive a train crash.

Well, that's great and all, I suppose, from a creative viewpoint... But do you really need, like, a Kevlar secret-agent-style case for a 60% keeb? I thought the whole point was how ultra-portable they were. (Why else put up with all those 3- and 4-key shortcuts to do basic stuff the rest of us take for granted?)
Seems like it defeats the purpose to reduce the concept of a keeb to its bare essence, then go and engulf it in a big ol' honkin' case like that. Why not just slip it into your pocket?
As you can see, I have many questions. Being married, though, I'm not usually allowed to question anything.

Well, it's not about how portable or small the board is, it's more about the safety of the object inside. A few comments back someone mentioned that alu cases dent easily so if you spend a bit more on a custom and it's an aluminium case, you wouldn't want to dent a valuable item. Also this case, in my opinion, isn't really meant to be used a everyday case but more of a storage unit or a carry case for when you go to meetups so that's why it fits two boards not just one.

necessary?

To the OP, what is the white keyboard?
