Title: Where to buy hot swap sockets?
Post by: proto on Thu, 10 May 2018, 21:58:25
hi,
I am building a keyboard using the zeal60 board and kailh box jade switches. I know zeal has some on his site but I dont really need the gold sockets and as such I would rather not pay a premium for them. Does any other site sell hot swap sockets?
Thanks!

check these out: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a312a.7700824.w4004-2022834851.23.3e1f51ffkCugyA&id=44075927466

though, I'm not sure if they work for your PCB.

This will work.

Unfortunately the shipping would probably be way too much as I live in the United States

Watch out, you have a very expensive PCB there and with holtites it's easy to break soldering pads. If you apply too much force and the fit is snug then there is a chance you will push the soldering pad out. I broke 3 pads just like that in Pok3r but managed to fix it by soldering holtite to nearest diode directly. I didn't care because that's a PCB that I wouldn't mind replacing with $30 chinese PCB but I would be angry if that happened to me on Zeal60.

-never mind- answered my own question.
