Hello.
I am 힝힝홍힝 of Kbdlab in Korea.
I recently went ahead with a joint purchase of spring.

My enthusiasm is endless.
This time, I designed the keyboard.
And a sample came out.

When I design the keyboard. I refer to the OTD 456GT model.
It may be similar, but I added my own identity.
KBD INFO
- Switch plate type ( ALUMINIUM, STS304, CARBON , BRASS , PBT )
- It has a slope of 7 degrees.
- Lower height is 19 mm
- 5mm brass weight plate
- Fixed method : sandwich
Thank you for reading me.

O M G
it's so nice
that blue is beautiful
-
Looks nice, will this be offered in a gb?
-
That blue looks awesome, you going to be running a GB of it anytime soon?
-
extremely interested
-
i love the look of the 456GT, but its typing angle was way too extreme. my LZ CLS is much comfier
a reasonable angle and those plate options are good improvements
best of luck if you decide to run a GB

He says the angle is 7, which is on the lower side of normal. 456GT was 13, and CLS was 10 I believe.

The keyboard brass weight looks super cool!
Nice design :) very classic

It's my first time, so I want to start in Korea first.
I'm going to go abroad when I'm done.
Korea probably starts in June.

I can't meet everyone's standards.
I prefer a low angle.
Thank you for your support.

oh, sorry, i was saying that my LZ CLS is comfier than OTD 456GT
7 deg is a great angle too

I'm sorry. I am poor at English.

Looks pretty interesting. I hope there will be typing videos with other plates too.
I'd be interested in getting one depending on how this evolves. Will it be possible for people outside of Korea to buy one directly?
I got some of your springs(a korean friend bought them for me), I heard you did an awesome job for that GB.
-
That classic design
Amazing work!
-
I'm definitely interested, especially with all the plate options.
-
Very interested, I really like the weight design :)
-
Carbon plate?
If you do black anodizing and a carbon plate I might have to come out of keyboard buying retirement.
E: okay so the kbdlab links finally loaded and I see black ano.
I'm in.
Double edit: If someone sees this GB happen and I don't see it, please PM me. :D

saw this on kbdlab some days ago and was immediately taken by it. looking forward to this.

Love the weight design (reminds me of the high end Matrix boards) and the relatively low angle, very interested to see how this turns out :thumb:

Wow, nice blue :thumb:
I will have to keep an eye on this thread.
-
:)
A classic design that's not trying to give one carpal tunnel.
Good choice on the lower angle.
-
This is great! The fact that it's also named after an amphibian is just a bonus.
-
This is very nice! What kind of colors will you offer?
-
Wow just now seeing that blue sample, great color :thumb:
Is this still in the prototyping phase?
-
Oh wow, This is nice. I like how slim it is. Interested.

We got an update on the Salamander anodizing!
http://kbdlab.co.kr/index.php?document_srl=5282298
Rough Translation:
1. Matte finish
2. Champagne gold glossy finish
3. Silver glossy finish
Anodizing tests are complete to his standards. Currently working on the brass finish.
He's been unsatisfied with the high failure rate of PVD coating so he's looking into alternatives.
Going back to doing plating separately (Not too sure about this detail as I haven't been following the progress personally)
The mirror finish on the weight was causing issues with the bolt hole; it was getting worn out. They're in the process of half matte finishing 2 samples to evaluate. Regardless of the outcome, he's planning on running an interest check as well as the group buy. He's hoping for good results with the finish, of course...
In addition, the once envisioned polycarbonate classic housing design is being processed. This would also be made with a brass weight. He's planning on running the group buy of both the PC and alu housing at the same time.
He doesn't know if anyone's been waiting on this (humble bragger :)) ) but he apologizes for the long delays due to the results not being up to his satisfaction thus far.
I hope I did his post justice and if there's anything that's misrepresented, feel free to comment.

These look excellent. Hoping for a US group buy eventually

This board looks amazing. Looking forward to the international GB!

Interested in alps build!
Which PCB did used for alps build?

FYI, GB for Salamander has gone live in Korea.
Hope the local GB goes successfully so that it become more likely to go internationally for folks abroad ;D

Yea I just saw that yesterday. I was pretty interested in the board, but now after seeing how expensive it is in Korea I'm not too interested anymore. Especially after english tax that would be a really expensive board, even compared to other high end custom boards.

Will you continue to update the GH page or focus on keebtalk. I appreciate what keebtalk is trying to do, but I prefer the navigation and UI of GH. I guess I'm getting old.
