Anything with modern 1800. Shouldn't be too difficult.

"Indignation" is really great. I like"the human stain" too.

Are American Pastoral and I Married a Communist good also? I only ask because it seems they contain references for The Human Stain. There was also a film adaptation (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0308383/).

Are American Pastoral and I Married a Communist good also? I only ask because it seems they contain references for The Human Stain. There was also a film adaptation (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0308383/).

American pastoral is good but very complicated. I don't remember if I liked the Communist novel. I would like to suggest you to start with the shorter or simpler books, like Indignation or the human stain. Nemesis is also interesting.
