Hey-
I had to take the space bar off of my ALPS64 today to swap the case, and when I went to put it back on I notice that that little post stabilizer on the left side of the spacebar had fallen off. I went to put it back on but I don't see how it fits. There appears to be an mx like mount for it there, but the post itself seems to be smooth metal. I don't see how it fits in the plastic portion of the space bar. Did I lose a piece somewhere?
sigh... on closer inspection it seems to have broken off. Time to get out the locktite 401. That **** is what superglue was *supposed* to be...

Mine snapped off, but it doesn't appear to make any difference in stability (at least for me). I may use some adhesive to glue it back in the future, but as it appears to work fine, I'm in no hurry.

Low velocity superglue are far better then the normal ones, matias sells replacement alps stabilizer.
-
Does he? That is extremely helpful to know, thanks.
I decided I needed a thicker more flexible glue and am having good luck holding mine together currently with e6000. I'll have to look into the replacement stab. The only issue I'd have is getting the existing broken piece of the pot metal stab out of the plastic mount.

Funnily enough I was going through some of my stuff today and I have several of these still left over from when I imported a huge lot of Apple boards from Japan (probably 15-20 of them).
-
I was able to glue mine back together with e6000 and it seems fine, nonetheless I'll take a couple off your hands if you're interested in parting with them. Are we talking about the posts only, or whole spacebars? Do you have a price in mind?
Any Japanese AEK keysets you want to part with?
-
Both. I had several JP keysets and even a brand new Japanese AEK II but I've since sold them off. At some point I need to sort my bag of Apple caps, I think there's like 3-4 sets all intermingled.

Well any time you want to sell any jp caps or spacebar posts, hit me up via pm? Thx.
