So, pretty much 5 days left and it's at more than $150?

I find this humourous.

No no no, I'm the Nigerian prince, and my accountant is in Canada. I have no daughter which is why I offered my inheritance to ch_123. Get it right.

At the end? I've already used my ugly stick and don't plan to revisit the bid button.

A little birdy says the auction could easily top $300. I bid that much on a Datahand once, and lost it. Sucks to be unemployed. When I had a job I could be REALLY irresponsible on eBay.

There have been several in the past that have gone for more than $500.  At this point, nothing would shock me too much about an M15.

$300 for one that doesn't have a numpad mind you. This will more likely hit the $400 and possibly exceed it.

True, most of the ones we (or I, anyway) have seen come up have not had the numpad.  The numpad alone could probably fetch $100.

Yeah, I'd say, if not more. I'd guess GH'ers alone have it over the $300 mark...

Title: Lexmark M15 split ergonomic AND numpad.
Post by: kishy on Wed, 21 April 2010, 08:34:52
Maybe they grew brains and stopped bidding, because the current price is the maximum it's worth without being NIB (I'd say it's already past-value, actually, but that's because my opinion is that a keyboard being split reduces its value).

I knew someone would mention that.

The problem is...well ask webwit. Even with the range of motion it does allow it's still only split.

IIRC, you can detach the two pieces like the uTron; the difference being that the layout is still the same as a regular keyboard where the uTron changes things up considerably.

Ewww, that one has a lexmark logo (never knew they made them like that).
I wouldn't buy one for $50 if it had lexmark. Yes, I'm that picky!
It either must say "Options by IBM" (which is the true logo for those keyboards) or simply "IBM".

EDIT: obviously the fellow selling the keyboard doesn't know much about it.

Nice Score Webwit, I figured it would have gone higher as well, great investment.  And that's without considering the numpad.  I'm jealous.

Even though Lexmark produced these for IBM??   I figure Lexmark didn't last long after they started labeling their own products.   I personally LOVE my Lexmark branded Space Saving Mini.   And I don't think they're are many of them out there since mine is the only one I've seen.

I'm going to need to add one or two of these to my collection.   Guess I'll have to open the purse a little wider to join the M15 club.

Hmm, lemme see if I can think of worse dentist jokes than the kind you have to endure during parties. Although now I think about it, I leave that to the British.

Have you seen the Hangover???   Absolutely hilarious movie!!!   They cover all of the typical dental jokes in that one.

And Ricky Gervais recently in the somewhat forgettable Ghost Town.   "Bad molar contact".   I LOVE IT!!!

I think what did it was the immediate payment (ebay sellers love that), the offer to pay for extra care to the packaging if needed (which he declined but he packaged well) and the positive feedback. Also, like the last M15 seller, they feel incredibly lucky for selling an old dirty keyboard for an unexpected relatively huge amount of money.

Well, a friend of mine sold a really good patek watch for next to nothing. Sometimes people learn the hard way of what they're selling.
I seen some 25 ruby super automatic watches go for $20... they are worth in the $200 range. Swiss only of course.

But isn't the seller helping the widow out??  I thought I read that somewhere?   Or is that simply a Geekhack urban myth?

Actually history is full of people who sold stuff below market value because they simply didn't know the true value or didn't care.
