Why not just buy a keyboard??

Is there something special about the built in keyboard?

I actually don't have the laptop, but i like it's design pretty much. I have a compatible display already with thin bezels and a mini eDP controller, the case parts of the laptop are cheap on Ebay so i thought i can get the full case for cheap and fit either a USB C hub inside of it to connect all the parts to my Windows Tablet with a single USB C cable or fit a smaller motherboard and do all the wiring.

I'm a broke student and i have a good desktop so i don't need an expensive laptop, that's why i'm doing all of this instead of getting the overpriced laptop :)

I'd guess there is a cable connected to the keyboard. Your first step is to figure out the keyboard matrix. Have a look here (https://www.instructables.com/id/Figuring-out-a-Key-Matrix-Scan-Matrix/).

I wouldn't even try this on a XPS 15. If you **** up  you will lose your warranty and even if it works you also lose your warranty. Just get a 60% keyboard.
