Title: Alps housing broke....help

I was taking the caps off from a focus FK-2001 when the stem broke through the housing while still on the cap...
I was trying to pull straight up like I've seen people recommend before but did I do something wrong or does this happen from time to time?
Also, what's the best way to fix this?
Super Ggue
buying a loose switch and take the housing
3d print a new housing
duct tape..?
