Title: Handwire advice
Post by: SectorOMEGA on Mon, 03 September 2018, 10:03:37
So i have tried cnc my own PCB for four key pad. Well not gonna work as it should be double sided and I cannot solder so fine at both sides and due to that decided to handwire it to the micro pro and use the PCB as a 'case'. Have never been soldering a micro for keyboard so would love an advice. Also i have the led holes drilled so thinking of using them and would I need diodes for the keys. Thank you in advance

nice start.

here are some nice guides about handwiring:
- BrownFox step by step - https://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/brownfox-step-by-step-t6050.html (https://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/brownfox-step-by-step-t6050.html)
- All you need to build a custom keyboard - https://matt3o.com/all-you-need-to-build-a-custom-keyboard/ (https://matt3o.com/all-you-need-to-build-a-custom-keyboard/)
- Hand-wiring a custom keyboard (montage)(video) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrokZ1afnVg (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrokZ1afnVg)

if you still get stumped, techkeys has small (1, 3, 4 & 6 key PCBs/kits available)
https://techkeys.us/collections/keyboards (https://techkeys.us/collections/keyboards)

good luck, it can be a fun/challenging journey.
