Title: Looking For My Next Mech (TAKING SUGGESTIONS)
Post by: RDrazy on Tue, 04 September 2018, 15:30:57
Hello All,

I'm brand new here. Good and trusted friend of mine recommended I come and speak with the "masters" of the mech community to get some input.

Currently, I am using a Ducky Shine 6 with Cherry MX Blue switches. This was the first Mech I ever bought and used. I have loved this keyboard for the most part.

I am now looking to replace my at home gaming/work keyboard. I've been looking at a variety of brands all the way from Realforce/Topres, WASD, Ducky, Varmillo, etc. and a variety of switches and I am having a hell of a time deciding on what to get.

My only complaint with my Shine 6 is the keypress can become tiresome and is somewhat of an annoyance at times. My hands seem to become fatigued, and I feel it could be an issue while gaming. Specifically playing APM intensive games such as Dota2 and Starcraft 2.

My Preferences:
- Full 104 Keyboard
- RGB or Single Color Backlit(not a definite requirement, just preferred)
- Very sturdy and solid frame. No sliding/moving. Heavy

I've been looking mainly at Browns/Reds due to my earlier complaint with the blues on my Shine 6.

As you can see this is giving me extreme anxiety. I am eager to replace my at home KB cause it's broken:D.

Thanks in advance!

Here's a few suggestions:

iKBC MF108
Corsair K70

As for switches, your best bet is definitely MX Reds if you want something lighter unless you want to customize some switches with even more lighter springs.

These options are good but i would also advise you to take a look at Cooler master master keys keyboard. The only OEM gaming keyboard probably i have seen getting approved by the keyboard community for it's quality and build.

I haven't checked lately, but aren't Corsairs the boards with the annoyingly non-standard key sizes which mean you can't use aftermarket keycaps?

I have a k70 now. That's the one I'm replacing. I absolutely hate it. Felt cheap from the time I opened it. Granted I was already using a Ducky Shine 6 which is super sturdy and heavy.

But I had a keycap break within a month of using it. Was very disappointed in the K70 and wouldn't purchase another one.
