Does anyone have these ?
I don't quite understand why they're necessary, I've gotten 1 speeding ticket in 15 yrs.. it cost $200..
Is there something special these devices do ?
Or are they for the Adept Criminal , drug runners ??

I have one, but it isn't plugged in at the moment.
I think I paid $180 for it and it has paid for itself plenty of times :)

Would you really have gotten that many tickets though ?
I guess Tp4 just isn't much of a speedster himself.

Don't forget about dash cams just in case an accident or insurance fraud takes place. I seriously thought about all those cool gadgets but I've done without them but be nice to have even though I rarely speed.

They pay for themselves if you avoid just 1 ticket. I have gotten one ticket so far and I can tell you it was a LOT more expensive than a radar detector after court and lawyer fees and a driving class...
They can definitely give you a false sense of security though which isn't great so ill pass.

I'm curious if anyone's gotten a ticket when they DID have a radar detector?

We should look to nature. If everyone painted their vehicles in zebra camo and stuck together that should minimize a single driver from being singled out. The ability to become transparent like some cephalopods would be cool. Also we need jammers, radar detectors, radar absorbing coating like stealth bombers have, encrypted communication between vehicles with advanced AI for concerted driving and evasion tactics, license plates that can disappear by the flip of a switch, a light killswitch and night vision and infrared sensors for night runs. Think of skunk works but let's call it speed works.

Or how about Skunkworks for porn, we could call it Spunkworks!

There probably is already such a place in the deep annals of the dark web :-X

All the time? Cops can and do write tickets based on visual estimation.
Not to say it's nearly as common as a cop actually pinging you though.

They are quite illegal for commercial vehicles but there are detectors that advertise as being undetectable from radar detector detectors.

I guess that means we need a radar detector detector detector to bypass the police then.

I have the Cobra XRS9470 in my personal truck, it works most of the time, sometimes I get false positives. It works well enough though, but I've also just started slowing down in life because of so many other a$$'s on the roads.

No, you wouldn't
you have, radar detector
police has, radar detector detector
you have, radar detector, IMMUNE TO, radar detector detector
It wouldn't go a 3rd iteration. only the first detector would be revamped to be immune to the 2nd detector-detector

My dad wasn't the best driving influence. A long time ago, my mom demanded that she drive if they were both going somewhere together. Her hands were so often braced against the glovebox :)) He owned a 1994 gsr when I was a kid and although he drove it too fast most of the time, we rarely got pulled over. One of the few times stands out in my mind, a motorcycle cop was in the median just on the other side of an overpass and he called in my dad's speed to a highway patrol unit a couple hundred yards past to pull us. A detector would have been really useful then.. "Don't tell mom." lol
Anyway, I still use the old tools - awareness and brakes and have only gotten pulled once, 8 years ago. I've considered one for nighttime use though, my vision isn't great in the dark.
