Depends what you mean by busted wheel bearing. If you are driving down the road and it is vibrating I would first give the wheel a good hard shake from side to side while the wheel is in the air to see if it shakes a couple inches or just a bit. If it is a couple of inches I would restrict driving to back roads and as little as possible. If it is just a bit then I would drive it while waiting for parts to come in, but I would keep in mind that the more I drive with this problem the more I would risk screwing up my brake rotors, wear out tie rods, ball joints, and put weird wear patterns in my tires. If the wheel does not shake shake back and forth and is just a noise going down the road I would be more lax and wait for a day I want to replace it.

How long?
It may continue to roll but it may cause more and more damage or just make noise, or it could lock up in the next 5 minutes. Problem is you may not know until it's too late.
Also, how bad it will be depends on what wheel it is. If a right rear locks up, you could hit a curb, bad, but not likely to kill you, unless you hit a pole as well, but if its a left front, you could do what happened to someone I know, it threw his truck onto the center divider, on it's side.
