How many people want a Mac? 1%? 1% too much. So we're talking about a really small number here.

The scissor macs are already better than most mechanical keyboards..
The low travel gives you the accuracy without individual switches.
The build quality is good, the circuits are good.
Backlit, no RGB, but hey, if you're an adult , you don't need that.

They feel just like any crappy modern laptop keyboard to me.
IBM Thinkpad scissor boards at least makes them slightly better.

If you manufacture office keyboards, you would be silly not to cater to Mac users.
The easy thing would be to just add a DIP switch to swap the Alt/Option and Windows/Command keys.
Few people use the Windows-only Menu key anyway, so you could just skip it ... or send the key when the Fn key is released without having selected anything.
Throw in some extra keycaps with Mac legends.
By all means, do follow Apple's convention (https://deskthority.net/wiki/Media_key#Function-key_mappings) for media keys on the Function-keys! It is kinda stupid that every PC keyboard should have its own mapping anyway.
If you are clever, you could have a mode that emulates the Mac Aluminium keyboard's protocol (https://deskthority.net/wiki/Apple_Aluminium_Keyboard#Protocol) and send the Fn key as a key to the Mac host. (Matias does that. And in a special Mac mode only of course)
The build quality is good, the circuits are good.
You could argue that the Apple Aluminium only looks like good quality superficially.
That metal is very thin and it is easy to bend. Keys break. The keys attract dirt.
The "Magic" keyboards are horrible designs: Non-replaceable battery. Very low key travel. it may still be too soon to tell about durability, but ... The key plastic can't be very thick because you can definitely feel bumps if you run your finger along the Space Bar or right Shift.
Oh, and by "scissor Mac" you would also include the MacBook keyboards with ultra-wide keys with ultra-low key travel that stop working after having been subjected to dust or have an always-on OLED screen instead of function keys. In general, OLED screens tend to burn in — anyone seen that yet on a MacBook?

- Buy or build a mech board with at least three 1.25u modifiers on the left side (or one 1.0u for Control and two >1.25u for Option + Command).
- Put on any keycap set with Mac-like labels (such as SUPER or CODE for the Command key) or buy specialized sets like XDA Oblique.
- Done.

So I am not the only one! We are launching a Mech Board for Mac, not so sure how much people will like it. We actually spent over 1 year to test its firmware till no error happen at all. Do you use a mech board for mac yourself?

Could you consider using Alps clones/Matias switches in your next board? Tai-Hao could probably make the keycaps for you.

- Azio has one too I think.

But for the most part it's also fairly easy to convert PC keyboard to Mac keyboard by using the built in setup from Mac OS lol.

Yup, we considered those when we started last year, but we put more attention to the compatibility for Mac firmware for our 1st Mac keyboard, our users can feel free to change any keycaps they like since our M87 Mac board is only $59.99!!! I personally think is is crazy! And yes, there is possibility for us to change later!
