Title: Another Keycap Mold
Post by: QuyND on Thu, 25 October 2018, 08:43:30
Hi guys, this is my first topic on this forum. If there is any mistake, please tell me.
I’m currently working on this Mold, i haven’t come up with a name yet. But please feel free to tell me what do you guys thing about it. I had run a small GB in my country - Vietnam - to see what other things and so far so good, still no complain yet.

This Mold come with a “Hard Anodize” surface on 7075 Aluminum to prevent wear after many, many casting done. Also with the quick veins-break tools to minimize excess resins after release the keycap from the mold.

Thank you.

I think this is really well done, and I like the idea of unscrewing to separate the bottom from the keycap.

Nice work :)

This looks neat! Does the squarish stem effect the caps ability to be put on box switches?

What do you means by "squarish stem"? On the video, when i pull the stem making part away, that leave a very thin layer of excess resin. You can easily break it off by hand. The stem is round.

This is quite an interesting design. Would love to see how it is used in real time (where to pour resin etc) and probably a longer video  :D
Just wish to know more about the product.

Glad you liked it. But sadly i don’t have any set with me now because i had sent them all away. I am currently running a small Pre-order in my country, when it’s finish, maybe i will make a short video to demonstrate.

I’m working on this new accessory for this mold. A “Rotary Base” making sculpting easier. No more annoying locates pin blocking your view. The prototype is halfway done, i think they will be ready to send to tester in 2-4 weeks after i fixed my CNC machine.

A new toy (prototype) - rotating sculpture base for Sculptor. I will further explain this in my future posts.
