well, whatever. i prefer pbt sculpted keycaps anyway

Backlighting is super overrated anyways. You should be touch typing on an ergodox anyways so I don't really see the point.

my keycaps are blank. i'm definitely touch typing! i feel the lighting can be useful to inform me what layer i'm on. the underglow can do that, but it requires that the keypads be lifted up, which is a minor drawback. it's also just easier to see the lighting if it's coming up through the keycaps. also, if the lighting can be changed on individual keys, that's a lot more feedback
still >.> nbd. i have three little lights on the top of my right keypad
btw, can anyone tell me what the leds are set to? by default i see red in the first dot for the second layer, and green in the second dot for the third layer.
is the first dot always red? will it continue the pattern in combinations for up to eight profiles? (maybe seven. i'm just counting an octave from 3 buttons, like a trumpet)

Man, why won't they upgrade the dox with some m0ar keys..
I think 1 more row, at least, would be very helpful..
1 more row, and maybe 1 more column on the inside edges.

there's like 1000 split ergo options out there these days, there's a good chance there's something out there that works for you
