Title: Cranberry Adventures..
Post by: tp4tissue on Thu, 08 November 2018, 19:58:20

EDIT:   New Plan

Standard recipe is 3cup Cranbe to 1cup water.  This takes forever to boil off/reduce.

If Tp4 Blenders the Cranbe, This extracts water, Now Could reduce 1cup additional water to 3/8 cup ,  dramatically lowering reduction time..

Thoughts ??

Y'all sure I'm not suppose to blend this or filter it somehow.

I have never made it but ...

If the skin is a problem ...
1) Are you sure you have cooked it enough?
2) Are you sure you have cranberries?

I think you should be able to filter the seeds by pressing the sauce through a wire-sieve using a spoon

When you boil the cranberries they just turn to goo jelly anyway, I mean you can put it through a strainer or colander after the boil. Make sure to let it set in the fridge for a few hours and all the gunk will fall to the bottom too.
I never heard of skinning cranberries idk

Eat them.  It's like the cherry filling in pies and cobbler.  Cook the cranberries until they burst, squish them a bit and add your preferred zests/aromatics.

Use potato masher instead of blender so you won't break the seeds open.

You will release the numerous tiny little seed-ghosts. They will haunt the kitchen until you cook a tofurkey, notice that the dead bird never had any ghost to begin with, say "Whatever...", roll their eyes and disappear.
