Running my first GB for the community and trying to put this board to fruition, here is TaiChi, a TKL made by Eve.

This oriental looking board [TaiChi] is heavily inspired by the philosophy of Taichi, a Chinese cosmological term for the "Supreme Ultimate" state of undifferentiated absolute and infinite potential, the oneness before duality, from which Yin and Yang originate, can be compared with the old 無極. The word 太極 comes from I Ching: "易有太極，是生兩儀，兩儀生四象，四象生八卦，八卦定吉凶，吉凶生大業。

These colour guides are merely just for reference. Don't be shocked at the rough colours of the picture cards presented here. You can refer to the IC for better representation of the finishing and colours.

PCB Information:
1. Bootmapper
2. Mini USB
MOQ and Allocation:
1. FCFS via Google Form - which will be release on 9 December 2018, 0000 HRS, GMT +8. There are maximum restriction of 4 boards per person. Incomplete or trash responses will be removed.
2. GB will end with 2018, or when MOQ reached, whichever is first. Final testing of the PCB and cases will be done during this time. Once given the clear by me, I will pay up so Eve can start production.
3. Minimum MOQ of 40, maximum of 80 (if we really do hit 80, order of shipment will be first in first out in multiple batches).
4. Suggested mode of payment - Transferwise (direct banking if you don't want minimal fees), PayPal - fees will apply.
5. Locals in Singapore will be given priority to the GB and payment will be made via direct banking.
6. As this is my first GB, in the event if PayPal decided to lock up my account for no reason, refunds will be made and mode of payment will change to Transferwise. (If MOQ doesn't hit by then, GB will be cancelled).
7. Strictly no cancellation or transfer of spots, since Eve will directly ship to you. If you want to transfer spots, do it after the keyboard is shipped. Language barrier can be a logistical nightmare.
8. Estimated delivery in 5 months: 3 months for production, 1 month for buffer during Chinese New Year factory shut down period and 1 month for QC and shipping.
9. Will provide monthly updates here, but I am very active in Reddit Mechkeys Discord - especially the cancerous Kustoms chat. Okonomiyaki#2832 is my user name.
Lastly do note, I am not getting any cut from this GB to make it affordable and I will be taking PayPal monetary risks trying to bring the board to you.
There might delay involved in a GB, so I would sincerely need your understanding. I really hope you guys would enjoy it in the end.

I'm concerned with the new Yin-Yang design. I love it in concept, but I don't think it is properly executed. The old design conformed to the correct shape/proportions of a standard Yin-Yang, but the new one does not. I also don't think the design concept (making the two parts convex) interferes with adhering to this design.
Here's an image I found of the standard proportions of the Yin-Yang:

To make this properly convex, the following transformations from this would need to happen:
1. Increase the size of the left/right circles.
2. If constrained to 2D, these would overlap. Instead, reconnect them in the middle by angling them down/inward, keeping the edges touching the main big circle locked
3. The rest of each white/black area should continue at the same angle as their respective circles
4. The dots should be at the center of their respective circles.
And that's it. If I knew how to use a 3d modeling program, I would make this. Maybe somebody can help.
Right now this is the only thing that's keeping me from buying what would otherwise be an absolute masterpiece.

I think the angled idea is great, but I would have to disagree on the quality of its execution. Can you at least center the dots to their circles? That's the most glaring fault. The image you created for alignment didn't seem very precise, as you considered the inside edge of the lower circle as part of the circle (the camera was not directly from above). I went ahead and tried it myself:

Never knew that there would be intricacies to the Taichi logo despite being Chinese myself.
As the one who put forth the aforementioned logo, it was a proof of concept to see how the light bouncing off different surfaces could be incorporated to the logo to show the "black" and "white" of the Taichi logo.
As Miki has clarified, Eve will be doing the changes you pointed out.

As the one who put forth the aforementioned logo, it was a proof of concept to see how the light bouncing off different surfaces could be incorporated to the logo to show the "black" and "white" of the Taichi logo.
Just had a thought. What would be really awesome is if the dots were milled to the same angle as the opposite side, so it has the same color/shade as the opposite side in given lighting conditions.
It's probably too late to add this in... oh well.

Missed out your query. Main impact is purely aesthetics amd weight. Brass is way heavier and denser than aluminium so it affects the weight. So is the cost as well. Currently this was an idea proposed last minute before the GB and therefore i have no proto on that made, since the design is similar in principle.

My current bucket list at the moment:
1. Getting the buy to hit moq
2. Getting out the new taichi logo today so the CAD guys can CNC.
3. Waiting for PCB, hopefully in black and white then start on final prototype of sales unit.
4. Fitment test with caps and photograph.
5. Pay munny and start production.
Will furnish any pictures if i can get my hands on it.

There wasn't any silver option. White coating isn't ready so Eve went to do a clear ano at the moment. I will furnish the white sample as soon as possible.

Its a shame. It looks good in silver! I went with the dark titanium grey. It was the closest I could imagine to silver, but its also the only colour option that I can't really visualize well, since there hasn't been a prototype of concept render, unlike with the other colours.
if I managed to get high enough moq at 80, I will try to add silver to the selection. Right now im only at 47.
I kinda need more moq in order for me to offer wider colour ranges.

Some updates: Production will start soon, ordering of raw materials done at the moment.
Actual milling will kick off around 20 Feb - Post CNY (my conservative estimate). We will still be able to get the board around end Apr/mid May per my initial time assessment.
There will be an update drought for now. I will be away from 16 - end Jan in Japan and also no major production taking place in lieu of the coming Chinese New Year.

I just have to say that you're doing a great job with this buy. I think the constant communication gives people peace of mind, as well as the confidence that you're competently handling everything. That's not what they are suggesting. You can buy and install Mill-max sockets in a regular PCB. They function like Holtites, but are less annoying to work with.

3. I ordered Kit 2 but why is my configuration Kit 1? OMG!
I discovered there was a grave mix up and they sent all keyboards as Kit 1 configuration. If you received tracking and is Kit 2 do not worry, I have asked him to send the brass bottom plate, steel O weights and titanium logo FOC. Meanwhile just enjoy building the board as you can change the configurations on your own later. I also learnt my lesson not to offer to many configs and be over adventurous. Next project will avoid this at all cost lol.

The ano is good. Only slight discoloring and kinks on the inside. The ano'd circle weight is also a darker shade than the rest of the board but that's not too noticeable. Top and bottom case colors are consistent as far as I can tell. PCBs (2) are working and look very clean. Bronze badge also very nicely polished!
Can't wait to build this. There's actually very little clearance for the PCB in the case so I think there'll be little to no sound issues.

Got my board!!
The ano is good. Only slight discoloring and kinks on the inside. The ano'd circle weight is also a darker shade than the rest of the board but that's not too noticeable. Top and bottom case colors are consistent as far as I can tell. PCBs (2) are working and look very clean. Bronze badge also very nicely polished!

Nope no filters. The blue does change with the lighting a lot. Here's another pic under different (less?) lighting. Looks more like the initial shots here I think.

I have had black/gray boards from other manufacturers (LZ, duck) and this looks closer to black than gray, but not all the way to black. I took the pictures under the brightest light I had but in lower light it's pretty much black.
For reference, these are the color samples given:

Though to me again it definitively looks like titanium gray when you look at it with some light on. I had a pc case long ago in titanium colour and it was a really dark gray that looked closer to black when the light was poor in the room and if I didn't have some black items around, I wouldn't even notice the titanium colour difference honestly. It's a really subtle colour. At least in my limited experience.

Doesn't really look like either of the samples to me, but it's definitely closer to grey than ink black my eyes. I definitely wouldn't mistake it for black.

Wait, when did this happen? All plates are silver now? Since I ordered the Black/White version, am I not getting black plate like it says in the OP?

yes i talked to OP about this. unfortunately i was told that the tolerances would mean that powder coating the silver accent piece on the bottom would make it no longer fit into the case, since the powder coat significantly increases thickness. i was told EVE tried it with a real accent piece, so its not theoretical

Hi, all white TaiChi had a silver O weight attached to it and I was informed only after shipping was done. Went to check with Eve and we concur that it is impossible to have it coated in white and to have a seamless bottom. Enlarging the bottom through hole would have resulted in having a seam around it.
I wasn't pleased to hear the changes only after the keyboards are shipped. In consideration for my future GB, I might change to another manufacturer.
