Title: asking for help keycap makers who 3D print and hand paint
Post by: polygex on Thu, 13 December 2018, 15:07:28
Hi makers,

Recently being hooked on making the key caps and i bumped into two issues:
1. How do you deal with RGB light bleed?
I print my caps in clear resin prime them with corax white, however not able to achieve perfect coverage and the light still seeps out and around crevasses. Needless to say it is bugging me a lot.
2. What dimensions do you shoot for in your keycaps? I experimented with making a keycap of regualr size, but then objects like faces look smaller because round < then regular key cap square. I tried to upsize it (19x19mm base and 18mm height), but then the cap is for ESC key only. What would you say be an ideal base height?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello,
if you use black primer (i prefer army painter black spray) it blocks the light.
