to my knowledge all M's came with detachable cables right?

That's a 42H, which would have a non coiled, permanently attached cable.

It wouldn't be bad to get if you knew how to resolder a cable on.
Even though it's 99 cents, the shipping (for me) is $24! Definitely not worth it.
