Specs:
4mm brass plate compatible with all the GH60% tray mount cases: ALF DC60, Tofu60 and etc.
CNC craft.
Polished and sandblasted, chroming(like my volcano660 plate), PVD.(See the moq and price offered by factory)
We will offer different layouts.(Personally, my designing purpose is to enhance the type feeling, so those universal plates are not the first choice)

im a bit ootl, how does thicc brass change the feel/acoustics?I can tell it based on Normal vs Gasket, but thicker plate I have no idea, that’s why I’m here. I talked with u/magicpretzel this morning and we believed that this will be a good try :)

It's so thick that it deserves to be exposed with a sandwitch mount. Given the thickness of the plate, do you need to stuck a membrane between the plate and the pcb?
On a comment by nubbinator, I've seed that he said that with come pcbs you need to worry about "top plate SMD stuff." :thumb:

Cutting brass is even harder than milling! You can't use traditional CO2 Assisted laser cutters due to the fact that the brass will oxidise and you won't be able to cut through it without having a horrible mess everywhere the issue is that you can't really mill anything under 4mm, since we're used to thinner plates due to MX Mounting, I can sort of presume that's why you chose a 4mm plate, since it's cheaper to do than a 1.5mm or 2mm plate :)

they sound crisper, in the sense that the tap sound on the plate doesn't linger, and goes away quicker. and a bit deeper. really sounds good.

Also the typing feel will be quite different. The top-out clack will be very firm, and the bottom-out feel will be very hard.

Someone earlier on this thread mentioned this plate would be great with a sandwiched case - maybe something like the acrylic cases Qlavier does. I second that opinion.it's meant for tray mount style cases. So wouldnt work with sandwich style would it?

I know the site you're talking about - I'm more interested in the CAD that has the cutouts for the switches to lock into place. SwillKB doesn't provide that option, afaik.

The second you start trying to support a bunch of layouts with a plate like this, it starts ruining the design. Look at sprits 5mm acrylic plates, and what supporting split spacebars and everything does to that area of the plate.You are right. It would have to be a plate on its own with fixed split space layout to make sense...and the demand for that is way too low unfortunately.

not sure if it was answered already, but yes. I never go sandblast finish on brass anymore, unless you like the tarnish look.

Is this plate designed to only be used with specific style keycaps? I notice on my 60% board that my keycaps bottom out exactly on top of the plate. With the switches being sunk in about half way of the 4mm thick plate it seems my keycaps would have around 2mm less travel before bottoming out. My switches have a travel distance of 3.6mm so it seems this would drastically change the feel. Maybe I am missing something.Keycaps will never touch the plate no matter what plate is being used. The thicker the plate, the further it (the plate) goes down towards the PCB, filling in the gap between the switch and the PCB.

Okay, with shipping. Are they still shipping directly from China? If so, what should we choose for shipping? Just leave it at free shipping, or will we still get it faster if we choose DHL? I ask b/c I think it took 4 weeks for my stabilizers to get here and 6 weeks for the FFF switches. :(
