Just ordered mine, these retail for $230 and go used for $50+. It doesn't have double shots, but **** it, $35? Sold.

Two left. Go get it, boys.

The 8200 is my 3rd favorite Cherry brown board. I love programming all those retail keys, as well as covering them with 'antique' key caps like RESET, ACK, RECALL, BIG MAC, and my favorite: Chef Salad.

I've also drilled discrete holes to bolt the PCB down to the casing, to improve the feel.

Enjoy.

Kinesis and my ricercar SPOS.

And I forgot--the 8200 has NKRO! Get your gaming fingers on.

Do all 8200s, or just some?

This is a G80-8200LPDUS. So MX blacks (I think), which have been on my "want to try" list. If it does have NKRO, then this could be a great gaming keyboard. Hell, it has more macro keys than a G19. :p

I think the 8200 pc board gives the NKRO to all of the boards in this form factor. My exact board is a G80-6955HPDUS, but the PCB says 8200.

This would be perfect if it had a rectangular or L-shaped Enter.  I hate that funky vertical Enter key.

Anyone know if these are NKRO or not for sure?

The G80-8200HPDUS-2 boards that I have had were all NKRO.

I snatched one. They seem to have a website (http://www.espotdeals.com/Computers-Networking/Computer-Hardware-Accessories/Mice-Keyboards-Other/Cherry-Beige-Ps2-Keyboard-p8569217.html) also. This is my first mechanical keyboard. It is pretty cheap compared to others, hope it will satisfy me.

On the Cherry site, it says the G80-8200LPDUS has MX gold crosspoint keyswitches. What is that?

Cherry MX are mechanical switches with gold on the contacts to prevent corrosion.

It's out for delivery by the local UPS warehouse. Let's hope they get it here before 7:15 PM (the time FedEX delivered my Emacs PSU last week).

The guy's packaging needs work; he shipped just the retail box, no additional packaging or padding. But it came in one piece and everything works. Great buy. Only thing bugging me is the vertical enter key, and I'm adjusting to that, I think.

For $35 I don't care if it's double shot or not, this is a great deal.

Did you find out if it has NKRO or not? Also, what color switch does it have?

That keyboard actually does look like a good buy. However, I wouldn't dare order one; I doubt it'd make it in one piece. No UPS for me!

Is it possible to change the enter key? Just out of curiosity.

Would changing the "|\" key to "enter" and remapping "|\" to a blank key be a good solution?

Dear eSpot Deals,

Thank you for your prompt delivery and excellent communication on my purchase of a Cherry G80-8200LPDUS (Ebay auction http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/706-53473-19255-0/1?type=4&campid=5336101931&toolid=10001&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D310219589994 ). This is by far the lowest price I've seen on one of these boards, especially new in box, and I'm glad I found you.

However, when it arrived I was afraid the keyboard had been damaged. You shipped the retail box bare, with no extra protection. The keyboard and accessories were fortunately unharmed; however, with UPS's rough treatment it very well could have been damaged in shipping. It may behoove you to, in the future, pack the retail box in another box with bubble wrap or foam or other padding material, to prevent potential mishaps. This may add to the shipping cost; however, I wouldn't have minded paying $5-$10 extra to ensure the keyboard wouldn't be damaged.

I've been recommending this keyboard to some of my friends looking into getting a mechanical keyboard, and
this is currently the best deal on the market. I'd just like to know that they won't have to worry about the board being damaged in shipping.

Thank you for your time!

Sincerely,
Michael

So hopefully any concerns over shipping should be alleviated somewhat, though we'd have to see how they ship out the next one to be sure.
