Hello! I promise I did my due dilligence in researching the internet for a solution to my problem, would love some help here! : - )
I am running a Windows 7 system with 2x, MSI 980 cards in sli.
These are powered by a Corsair TX750 PSU, on a ASUS x99-Pro system.
I can currently run 4 monitors on extended desktop while the SLI is active.
I work in stocks and would like to have more than four monitors active at a time.
Since my SLI setup is running four monitors on a 2x MSI 980 setup, would I be able to attach a random graphics card supporting PCI onto my ASUS X99-Pro motherboard, with no sli, for more than four monitors on display?
And would I be able to extent the desktop to all of those monitors?
(Currently considering an installation of five monitors.)
Thank you so much!

No, you don't want to do this.
The more cards you have the more glitchy it gets.
Either look for daisy chain monitors (over displayport)
OR, get a single (older) card with 6 outputs
you should never play games or browse the internet on the same PC you input trades. Major security issue (assuming you're rich enough to be a target), But even then.. Serious traders don't do it.

NVIDIA NVS 810 or two Quadros. Why SLI?

I do all my analysis on my same PC, but I execute trades from a secured PC (In which I also manage my money.)
Only curious whether I could run 2x 980x in SLI, and have a third random graphics card to get more monitors.

SLI for games, since I just happened to have 2x 980 lying around. Mighht as well. :)

So you say it should work with the suggestions you made?
What if I happen to have some random old graphics cards lying around?

It may or may not work, just plug it in. it's not like it's gonna blow up or nutn', takes 2secs
Overall, it's still better to daisy chain displayports.
Does disabling sli not let you do this ? I remember back when I had SLI, (WAY BACK, years ago), I had 4 digital monitors and a crt all at once.

Oh wow, I forgot that I answered this thread. You've probably figured it out by the time you read this reply.

I have three outcomes when testing my graphics cards setup:
2x MSI 980 on SLI: 4 monitors only, not give.
2x MSI 980 NO-SLI = 5 monitors with extended desktop.
2x MSI 980 SLI + 1x Third graphics card: "Graphics Card Unsupported" Error.
Any thoughts?

Is the 3rd card not nvidia ?
Have you tried turning on Onboard graphics, I know that will give you at least 2 outputs.

Give up the SLI, just use two cards.
SLI in gaming is a dying technology and has always been glitchy.
Later when you can afford it, get a newer card with DisplayPort, and some monitors that support it, you can daisy chain several screens to a single port. You can also adapt from Displayport down to almost any other connector.

No, both of them are Sapphire cards. It will work if it is nvidia cards?
