Title: How do people make group buy things?

Just wondering where do people even get the resources to start a group buy? How do they make the cases? Keycaps?
Obviously i will never do a groupbuy but do you need very expensive equipment to do so?
However i might buy a thing or two from a groupbuy.

Mostly they don't , they design something and find someone else to make it.  In the case of a keyboard it takes just as long to setup and tweak a CNC machine to make one perfect board as 20 so they run a GB to effectively share the setup cost.
