This is the interest check for Eden, aesthetically inspired by the garden I live in.

Mounting: Tadpole / Gummyworm

PCB Designed by ToastyStoemp
Electronics provided will be using the Molex Picomate connectors.
However, a JST - Molex cable will be provided for people who want full reverse compatibility with older PCBs. and we will still be using the C4 Daughterboard in the same vein of retaining as much reverse compatibility as possible.

DESIGN

This whole thing started with me wanting a Tadpole mounted 60% that didn’t have a toddler’s writing on the back. (ily geon but man)
From one thing to another, the design then developed into largely what you see now.



Mounting
The mounting for Eden takes a simpler approach to tadpoles than what the Frog and Frog Mini already executes excellently.
Instead, it uses more typical top mount points with spacebar cuts for loud boi spacebar.
Eden is also compatible with the H60 footprint for the gummyworm enjoyers.

With the change to PCB mount, I've opted for a more standard 4-4 mounting point arrangement.
Each kit will still come with a floating plate, but this does open up the possibility of plateless.

Here are the plates that I’m confident in offering:
Aluminium Full/Half
Polypropylene Full/Half

Plate files will be released after GB.

Similarly to the Ryu, the PCB mounting now allows for further threading after the hole for the tadpole to allow for a standard top mount.


TOPRE VARIANT
KLC has kindly offered their EC components for Eden!

However, due to the Topre assembly being taller than MX, PCB mounting is not viable without increasing front height to an unviable amount.
Additionally, the topre housings take up too much space on the PCB for a plateless kit similar to the ones found on Geon's F1s and F2-84.

Therefore, the board will have a dedicated EC variant instead with its own mounting points and internal dimensions, prototyping will be done concurrently, but I sadly can't promise this will run concurrently with the MX version.

Shoutout to Langerhans and Densus for helping out with all my questions about the cup rubber!

Love the way you did the seam between the top and bottom case. I always hated seeing keyboards that showing in the side profiles, but the chamfer makes it less distracting and more attractive imo

I'll be working on that!
As much as ICs and streams are great as a point of reference, there is always going to be a gap in the image created in our heads and reality.
With my local community, SG/MY, I've been spoilt with the ability to try many things in person much easier than others due to number of physical stores and meetups that happen cough come to Mecha cough, and its given me so much more insight into my preconceived misconceptions and introduced me to so many cool projects and even cooler people.

I want as many people as possible outside of SG/MY to also be able to experience it in person before making a decision, so I'm hoping I'll be able to have the board at a few meetups around the world this year.

I'm not the biggest 60% user because of my regular use of dedicated arrow keys, but this is a truly beautiful design that may be enough to make me actually buy a 60% without arrows.  I think this especially shines with the raw aluminum finish with the copper weight.  Great job, and also glad you had its.hymn work on the renders (another very talented designer and member of this community).

I like a lot of what's going on aesthetically here. The raw look is cool, the profile is cool, but the engravings just aren't my speed.
