Title: [GB] TriC 75% - Brevis
Post by: LunarisDream on Thu, 22 December 2016, 04:05:22

TriC75 Ė Brevis (http://sli.mg/a/armOfp)

With *two!* KBD75 buys going on one after the other, and yuktsi teasing his 75%, itís pretty much the worst time for another aluminum 75%. And yet here we are.

Starting price is $150. $145 @ 20 orders (we are here!). $140 @ 40 orders. For reference, the price in China is 999 RMB, and my current exchange rate is 1 USD = 6.8436 CNY. Shipping to international destinations is approximately $35, less for Asian countries.

Payment accepted via Paypal. Shipping will be invoiced for separately, dependent on destination once the items are ready to ship. I think I forgot about this halfway through and invoiced for shipping anyways.

Unlike my other buys, the above prices do not include Paypal fees.

Designed by TriCStudio, manufactured by HolyOOPs.

The buy includes:

ē   TriC 75% case (Brevis)
ē   TriC75 PCB (running ps2avrGB, SMT components presoldered, RGB underglow, TriC logo lighting, got Hojin's approval)
ē   Acrylic insert for diffusion of side lighting
ē   Appropriate case screws
ē   Aluminum case feet

Color options:

ē   Black
ē   Gray
ē   Silver
ē   Green
ē   Purple
Red

Tentative manufacturing time: 2 months. First match ready to ship.

Order list (check your order here, updated manually) (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jDx7vf0bMdnhnIHzrebB2m8--l7zt6cSz_ahYFfndBs/edit?usp=sharing)

Album of the completed prototype (http://sli.mg/a/FwNW5p) (has some pics of the TriC 80 prototype scattered in, low res) Alternate album since slimg is down, thanks suparnemo! (http://imgur.com/a/K47Kl)

Same album, high res (http://sli.mg/a/DuZWKo)

Updates:

1/4/2017

Invoices have been sent for the current orders. HK shipping adjusted to $15.

1/19/2017

Currently at 17 orders (adjusted out a few due to refunds/cancellations). Will send out new invoices as the reduced price of $145. If we hit 20, I'll send out the price cut refunds for the older orders.

1/21/2017

Hit the 20 order price break! Once they are paid for, I'll send out the refunds  :thumb:

3/24/2017

Order count is now over 40 units (if there aren't too many cancellations) which means the price of the kit is now at $140. All outstanding orders have been invoiced, and shipping will commence shortly. DHL for international, EMS for most Asian destinations.

Does this use a standard 6.25 spacebar?

What options do I have for the bottom row?

I believe Tric has a different tkl design coming up.There were some photos posted of it in the Tric 60% thread

Looks very nice.  Unfortunately I went in on the KBD75 because I wanted a raised case, otherwise I'd be all over this.  Best of luck!

Nice if we could take a look at the PCB & also the case with the acrylic inserts in it.

That is a good looking case. I like the low profile and the side cuts for LEDs. Is there switchtop removal? Does it support cherry stabs?

This looks beautiful.

I'm wondering if an alternative layout is supported, for which the backspace is split into two 1u (just like HHKB)? Based on the picture, the plate doesn't offer this option.

Definitely not with that plate. I would prefer this layout as well since I enjoy it so much on smaller boards, but I still give it a pass on the layout due to its size.

Yup not on this plate. But at 75% there's more than enough room for a separate 1u del key, or whatever you would want to use in place of the 2u bs.

I don't know about them, but I like to 2x 1u my backspace to create a 'hhkb' layout, with the backspace down a row on the backslash key
Title: Re: [GB] TriC 75% - Brevis
Post by: troy.dai on Wed, 28 December 2016, 18:45:45
That's exactly what I'm looking for. I'm very used to HHKB layout in which the backslash is replaced by backspace, escape is moved to th left of '1', and backspace is split to '~' and '\'.

It's more about habit rather than space.

No switchtop removal. Supports regular PCB-mount Cherry stabilizers.

TriC has an 80 with some pics posted near the end of the TriC 60 GB thread by the designer himself.

Yep! Big album of the completed prototype(s) (http://sli.mg/a/FwNW5p)

It's a rolling buy. The parts are already in production to cut down on manufacturing time, with the orders "finalized" when anodizing happens and the colors are set in stone (or aluminum, rather).

Tentative end date will be around late January.

It says TriC logo lighting... but I don't see a logo.  Does it have a lighted logo somewhere?
Does the PCB support backlight LEDs, or just the side RGB lighting?
Are there any photos of the PCB available?

Love the look of this one.  If this stayed open through January I will likely jump on board in a couple weeks.

I've requested some pics of the PCB from the designer.

The PCB supports both in-switch LEDs and RGB LEDs at the bottom.

Everyone: If you've paid, I'm going to mark your payment in Paypal as "service rendered/shipped". This way I will get better ease of access to the funds (they are currently on hold in my account which is mucho no bueno). You are still very much protected by Paypal's 180-day protection period, and I will post actual tracking numbers in the orders list as they are created. Scratch that, no longer necessary

It's quite tedious to run the GB for triC because they keep pushing the delivery dates back for better quality. (Personal opinion)

Fixed with your help. Thanks dude

TriC60 was pushed back for a loooong time for the reason above, but the cases did come out flawlessly. Brevis is on track to take a lot less time than that, but should maintain consistent quality.

There is only stepped vs non-stepped capslock, and winkey (6.25u space) vs winkeyless (7u space) bottom row to choose from. The two modifiers between spacebar and arrow keys are always 1.5u.

It's $35 to Canada via DHL Express.

Proto is gray with a black plate.

Interested, but I have a few question.

1. Is there a key size diagram?

2. Is the plate designed so the keys can be opened?

3. What types of switches is this designed to support?

1. Will ask for one, but basically it's what I said in my last reply.

"There is only stepped vs non-stepped capslock, and winkey (6.25u space) vs winkeyless (7u space) bottom row to choose from. The two modifiers between spacebar and arrow keys are always 1.5u."

2. Nope. Currently hotlites are a better solution if you want ease of swapping internals. Having cutouts that enable switch top opening ruins the aesthetic imo.

3. MX-type switches, be it Cherry, Gateron, Kailh, Outemu, Greetech, etc.

Thanks.  That right shift key is going to be very hard to find in keysets. All the other keys look to be pretty standard. Anyone have thoughts about sets that have a 2 width shift and a 1.5 width shift(just guessing from the layout but that is what it looks like)?

It's a 1.75 shift. Most "nice" keycaps will have that, so pretty much any gmk set and most cherry pbt sets will come with it, and all SP sets will have a kit for it.

One thing you want to watch out for is finding a set with properly profiled keys for the last column of keys

I have the following question:

I want a 75% board for a special setup that I want to screw into a metal arm instead of placing it on a table. Does this have some kind of screw holes on the back that could be used for this purpose, as in attaching it firmly to a piece of sheet metal for example?

Also, am I correct in assuming that I would have to source and solder the cherry mx switches (and keycaps) and possibly in-switch LED's myself?

i think this might be possible if you screw the piece of sheet metal into the holes that are being used for the aluminum cone feet. it should be relatively firm.

yup, you have to provide your own switches and LEDs.

Hey guys, been pretty inactive regarding my buys recently. Not much to report on this until now. The first batch of Brevis has arrived in TriC team's hands.

The pictures in the following album are all of the actual boards: http://imgur.com/a/s4Ryz

Quality is on par with TriC60 - Sandwich so they should be largely blemish-free.

Form to change or confirm your color choice if you'd like, now that all color options are known: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc8HbtGVEbiHZ1KHpTfpqRdsf1I38tcst0taSYtpH5VeXyLBg/viewform?usp=sf_link

Please note that I will not be shipping until you've filled out the above form, even if your color choice remains the same, just so we're both sure you're getting the color you want.

Shipping will commence soon and I expect them to arrive around the end of the month.

Also I still need to send out refunds of $5 each for that price break. Will take care of that today - for real this time.

Negative, you can tell by the appearance of the switch cutouts for the plate. The board loses a lot of its cohesive appearance with holes sticking out of the side of every switch.

I submitted an order a few weeks ago under my reddit username /u/ezra818.  I tried to find the invoice yesterday but don't see it in my PayPal history, but I know that you guys did send it.  I submitted a new order yesterday with the same info (although I changed my mind on the color of the case).  I want to make sure I get in on this; if you invoice me I will pay right away.  Thanks.

The original order form has been updated with all the colors available.

Hey guys, checking in with a brief update. We've gone off-schedule. These were supposed to arrive before mid-April, but there are some delays on TriC team's end for shipping these out. I'm urging them to hasten the process (since production is finished). Unsure what's taking them so long to ship - it's been two weeks.

Orders are still open but will not be processed (invoiced) until I have further news on the status of the current shipment.

Thanks for the update.

What is going on at Holly OOPS that is making them take so long to ship? Is it possible they aren't really done with production and are just stalling? Have they given you any estimate on shipping?

Got a reply today. Production is finished... for the most part. There were 16 kits in batch one that were supposed to be gray but ended up being silver (undyed). They're being sent back for reano and I was sent a msg about this, but totally forgot and thought I was kept in the dark. The lack of updates is on me regardless.

Production for the first batch is finished though. I've urged them to send out what they can at the moment and worry about the rest later rather than waiting and consolidating them into one shipment.

Aye, same rate to most destinations worldwide regardless of number unless you're in SE Asia, in which case it would be significantly cheaper.

TriC -> reshipper -> you guys.

Ironically, it would've likely taken less time if it went from TriC -> me -> reshipper -> you guys. I was hoping to save time and additional transit costs with the above method, and because TriC is physically located closer to the reshipper than I am.

Post by: LunarisDream on Sat, 20 May 2017, 10:58:03
Okay, I've a small batch of keyboards at the reshipper along with a definite word on what's going on:

The parts that are black or gray had to be sent back to be redone. According to the most recent word, they are "almost done". The kits that do not have black/gray are at the reshipper, and I've submitted for a couple of them to be sent out. Once they arrive safely, I will arrange for the remainder of what's ready to be shipped out to you all.

The order list is here and the "Tracking number" column is the one to keep an eye out on.

Thanks guys! And sorry again that this is taking so long.

I got mine today which was really unexpected. Mine is all black does that mean it should not have been sent to me? From my eyes it looks flawless. I'll admit I was a bit worried at how it was packaged vs what I saw of the TriC 60 but all in all it looked like it survived the trip once I got it out of the packaging. Planning on building it up this weekend once i figure out which switches I want to use.

Is this still available?  And if so, what is the turnaround time like from purchase to shipping?

Appreciate any info! :)

Group buys are generally unavailable once orders are closed. Your best bet is to start posting, and buy one from the classifieds when they're all shipped.

It is still being listed as an active buy in the *** LIST OF CURRENTLY RUNNING COMMUNITY AND VENDOR GROUP BUYS *** thread. Also, the order form is also still active and orders have been placed as late as April 22. The general GB pattern of closing down the order form has not happened here.  I completely understand why opuswild asked the question and a more definitive answer should be given by LD.

Is anyone else concerned about the fact that Lunaris has gone silent? He is such a great group buy runner and it is really out of character of him to just be MIA for weeks. I *know* he is honest and we are not being scammed or anything, but I am concerned that without him actively working to get these kits to us, it's not going to happen any time soon.

That decision is entirely up to you.

Due to poor communication and disappearing acts, I will never join one of his GB's again. I've written multiple PM's via Reddit and GH, the last response I received was on 4/29.

I understand/believe that LD has good intentions, but the lack of updates/communication and overall disappearing acts negates my positive outlook. I think I'm pretty much SOL. I would consider your options if you still have protection. For myself and some others, we're way past that date.

I was able to get a PayPal refund from him within 30 minutes of sending a message this morning. The general feeling I get is that we are still waiting on the gray cases so orders can be consolidated into one bulk shipment. If this is still the case then he should set everyone at ease with an update.

One thing that bothers me is non default size keycaps. and smaller shifts why not make them regular size opens us up to
all the nice keycaps out there...
Wanted to ask is this layout ever bin done ?

as a guide for keyboard layouts (and using what i think you mean to be reguly size keys), let's use the following sizes for rows 4 and 5 (shift row and spacebar row): 2.25u (u for units) for left shift, 2.75u for right shift, 1u for the remaining keys in row 4; 1.25u for the CTRL, ALT, and DZ keys, 6.25u for the spacebar and 1u for the remaining keys. adding those sizes up we get 17u for row 4 and 16.75u for row 5. there would be a small size difference between the rows.

a long way of saying the layout wouldn't be rectangular as your image suggests.

Depends on what you mean by "nice keycaps". Most every GMK and SP set I have seen includes a 1.75 RShift. It's actually the cheaper sets that have the problem.

Title: Re: [GB] TriC 75% - Brevis
Post by: LunarisDream on Fri, 23 June 2017, 21:28:38
Hey folks. There's nothing new to update unfortunately despite the lengthy delay. Here is the current state of affairs:

I have the below orders (by Paypal invoice #) that are ready to ship or have shipped already:

TriC75_03
TriC75_07
TriC75_09
TriC75_11
TriC75_12
TriC75_13
TriC75_20
TriC75_26
TriC75_30
TriC75_37
TriC75_41
TriC75_44
TriC75_45
TriC75_50

The biggest cause of the current delay is that the parts that are black or gray needed to be reanodized due to the color not being accurate compared to the original. It should be taking this long, but the reality of it all is that it is taking longer than it should, and rushing HolyOOPs is generally a fruitless endeavor. This is why most of them are not ready to ship.

The listing from Taobao is from Baiyang who works with TriC as well, but separately. I'm not sure exactly what is enabling him to get the kits when I'm still waiting on the group's, but I don't think it's an issue of favoritism.

We are approaching the 6-month mark for the early adopters of the GB and refunds, if requested, will be (had have been) issued.

For those who have not cancelled, TriC is throwing in a free brass MX keycap as a way of apologizing for the delay.

And I have a personal apology to make: Regardless of whether there's anything new to update or not, it's irresponsible of me to go MIA on the thread and cause buyers unnecessary worry. I wish I could say with certainty that something like this won't happen again, but sometimes the pressure of it all overwhelms me and I feel the need to escape from it all, futile though it may be, temporarily. I am speaking frankly and this is not PR-speak. For the majority of the past month I have attempted to take refuge from the responsibilities that I've taken up, losing my time in studies (it's finals week) and video games (Overwatch primarily) as a form of escapism. I can't say it's really helped, but while it happened, I did feel a bit better, having taken my mind off things, however temporarily it may have been. The feeling of having nothing new to update while people have been waiting patiently is, honestly, dreadful. I think I'm over it now, though. There are a few disputes in my Paypal account, more messages in my GH and reddit inbox, and I'm going through them all right now. It's a beautiful Saturday morning, perfect for tackling outstanding problems.

Shoot me an email if you want to reach out about anything. my username @yahoo.com. I promise it won't take a month to respond this time around.

Anyone else get their Tric 75? I ask because mine died suddenly this Thursday when I was at work. As of now no computer can see it when I have it plugged in. I have tried multiple computers, different cables, etc. I checked the PCB and everything looks fine so I'm not sure what happened. This is a major bummer since this is my daily driver at work and I love it, I just wish I knew what was going on. Anyone else have their's die out of the blue, is there anything I can do to revive it?

Lunaris is there anything you can tell me to troubleshoot or things to test/look for?

Hey LunarisDream, it's been 2 weeks since your last post where you stated you'd be better about updates. I think I speak for everybody on here when I say we don't care if there is nothing to update us with, but it would be nice to hear that from you once in a while. The total lack of communication is the bit that causes us to worry.

So how about at least weekly updates, even if they are, "Nothing new to report, still waiting." Seriously, it's not that hard to keep us all happy. We're patient (for the most part), but we don't like having to chase people down who have taken our money.

I'd like clarification on what "ready to ship" meant as mine is amung those orders... I was expecting a tracking number within a few days.  I am very patient.  Just confused.

I agree. My order number was in the "ready to ship" list, but I had already requested a refund a few weeks before that. I've received no updates on either front.

Since the last line of his most recent posting said, "Shoot me an email if you want to reach out about anything. my username @yahoo.com. I promise it won't take a month to respond this time around." I decided to shoot him an email. I'll report back if I hear anything. I'm a very patient person, but I'm starting to get a bit frustrated with this whole situation.

Part of what makes this frustrating is knowing that the people who joined the Taobao buy have had theirs for months.  I'm not saying that SHOULD make it more frustrating, but that has been my experience so far.

Chinese and Korean GBs have always shipped before US ones. Been the case since even old LZ GBs.

I received my TriC 75 last night.  I am board TriC75_37 and in the USA, so things are moving forward.  The board is much heavier than I expected, which is a treat.  The plate fit in the case is precise and even.  One of the two acrylic windows below the board has a slight gap -- less than 1mm -- whereas the other is an exact fit.  Since these windows are below the board, it is completely unnoticeable and not something I can complain about.  I chose a purple case and a purple plate and was very pleased to see the ano shades are identical.  I plugged the naked PCB in and the board illuminated as expected.  I will have to solder switches on for the full test, but so far, so good.  Honestly, I think this board was worth the wait.  Thanks, LunarisDream!

Received mine today.  Like Nocholost said, very heavy duty keyboard.  I don't have any of the alignment issues he mentioned.  Everything fits together well.  I will post pictures after I build it out.

Gray case
Red plate
gateron blacks
white LEDs

EDIT: I really hate the stabilzers I bought... going to buy some new ones... oh well.

If it is like mine, all the RGB LEDs will light up and cycle right away.  Have you tried plugging it into another computer to make sure its the keyboard and not the computer?

Yes, and it appears to have fried the USB port on my PC. Well, my build day just went downhill fast.

Ok, fully shutting down the PC and unplugging it for a bit, then rebooting got the USB port working again, but I really don't want to plug this PCB in again :/

I'm using the same setup I always do to test PCBs and my other boards are working fine with the cable and laptop I'm using. The USB port soldering on the TriC board looks pretty messy - I bet there's a short. Waiting to hear other ideas before i get too crazy, but that's my current theory. Sorry for spamming the thread, just was really excited to build :/

Update: Measured resistance across the USB port pins with a multimiter. Between the 5v and Data- pin the resistance is only 1.5kΩ, so I think that's probably the issue. Between 5v and ground is about 5.5kΩ, which is also concerning. All other pin pairs have very high resistance between them.

I bet if you took some close up photos of the PCB and made a post on another board asking for help someone could spot the issue.  Maybe it's a simple solder fix

Thanks fluxrez. I've been getting some help from a friend who's pretty good with electronics and will try to get some help online as well. If you have a suggestion for which forum/board to ask on, let me know - need to head off to work now but I should have some time tonight. I also sent LD an email. Hopefully I'll hear something soon. If anyone knows how to get in touch with TriC directly that would be amazing as well.

Can anyone who has received their Tric 75 tell me what sort of packaging it came in or post a picture of it? I'm running into issues with my order for this on Taobao and parts are missing.

Here is the picture of how the hardware arrived. I've already confirmed with the Agent that a lot is missing.

[attach=1]

This is the picture that the Taobao agent sent and it appears it just came loose in bubble wrap. This is much different that the quality packaging from the Tric60 so I'm wondering if this is B-stock.

My packaging was on the bad side too.  But there wasn't any damage.  You appear to be missing the little rubber nipples for the bottom of the feet.   Everything else seems okay.

Honestly though you shouldn't use those feet.  Bad for the wrists according to our companies ergonomic desk setter upper

Thanks. It's odd that Tric didn't package these in the fancy boxes like the Tric60. From the picture, I think it is missing the rubber feet, the two screw inserts for the feet, two screws for one of the side acrylic pieces, and two screws for the top plate.

Did all of your hardware also come in a baggy like this?

Oh yeah, I couldn't really see all your screws.  Maybe they fell out in shipping?  =(  Mine was in a box, but it was a little crushed.  and had less packaging than I would imagine is normal.

I wasn't going to mention it though, as everything was fine.

I'm waiting for stabilizers in the mail...  or I would have built the board by now.

So after spending all weekend trying to revive my board I realized it's dead dead dead or at least I don't have the skills to figure out where it died. I have basically replaced  everything except for the ATMega chip and it's in no better or worse shape then before. Is it possible to buy a PCB or are there just none left and I'm out of luck?

If you don't get a hold of LD, you could always try a B.mini from Winkeyless or a clone from Taobao: https://world.taobao.com/item/532865269364.htm?fromSite=main&spm=a312a.7700824.w4004-15386017182.6.672e1ae2UMBDkL

The LEDs certainly aren't on the side location, but it otherwise looks compatible. The USB port looks to be in the same location. At least then you would have a working board. I think the clone also has provision for RGB strips (can't be certain), if so you could try and run them along the sides.

Even after like 2 weeks I am still getting ZERO replies from Lunaris about me inquiring (GH, Email) about me forever being stuck as "invoiced" on his spreadsheet.

Admittedly I am starting to feel pretty freaking upset about this.

It's been over an entire month since he has promised regular updates. People ask questions, he gives no response.
I am just going to risk sounding like an ******* and flat out say that although this isnt a bad group buy since things happen, the lack of communication in EVERY way possible, makes Lunaris a terrible GB runner.

Going to wait a week or so for ANY sort of response from Lunaris before I give up and file a paypal claim...

This sucks...I was really looking forward to the keyboard kit :/

Well considering the tric60 b-stock had no updates in while and then suddenly arrived I think he's just overwhelmed and it's not really his fault so all he could do anyway is tell people that the tric group isn't delivering or delaying.

He could say that here though... :D

I'm just gonna wait a bit longer till mid month, considering my payment was sent in mid April, its not the worst group buy delay.

Bootmapper doesn't display the matrix in any sort of arrangement (Well, it does - it's row and column pin mapping). The right way to use Bootmapper is to click Download, the click Toggle Bootmapper. Hit a key on your keyboard then click at the bottom on what it's supposed to be. Wash, rinse, repeat until your matrix is complete then check Reboot after uploading and click Upload.

Hey all got a brevis for the s.o. a while back and we finally had the chance to tune the switches and build it up.
She really wanted the mac look to go along with the work setup and I think the silver color really delivered on that.  Building was relatively simple though we did need to touch up a solder point on a diode.  Overall really solid feel. Worth noting: we used lubed mx silents with the rgb bottom housing and it came out so quiet it might be more quiet than the mac book pro's keyboard.

Looks like my PCB is FUBAR. Might have been that way from the beginning, might have been my solder-unsolder-resolder job that did it (forgot to install the stabilizers!!! don't mention it please.). Either way it started to be recognized as a kb on macOS but now it just lights up but no more keyboard detection in the OS. No keys work at all even when it was detected as a USB device. Will try new cables etc but it looks bleak.

I need more spares, is there anywhere to get another board that's compatible without needing to wait 6 months? Is my main option to hardwire it and use a teensy?

I'm over it at this point. A mass email can take less than 5 minutes or just be automated, so there's really no excuse after that last update (when he said he'd reply to all the email and make regular updates).

Luckily I joined very late.

Since he hasn't responded to my last message (I asked him if I could buy spares from other cancelations, ironically), does anyone have a suggestion on the best way to cancel?

Personal problems aside, here are what I know for the current two buys:

TriC75: Production has finished in its entirety, including the ones that had to be redone from the initial batch. After contacting the TriC team, they will now proceed with packing and sorting.

ZZ96: Unable to get in contact with the person responsible for production during the day, likely due to it being midnight in China. In contrast, the person from the TriC team whom I spoke to was in Virginia and so was able to respond promptly. As soon as I get more info, I will send out an email to those in the buy.

Came via email.

Yup, as tobsn said, LunarisDream sent out a mass email yesterday explaining why he's been absent. The timeline doesn't really make sense as he's been non-communicative for nearly 2 months, but was active on Reddit as recent as 25 days ago. But, whatever. If he gets me my keyboard then all is forgiven.

So, LunarisDream, when you get back to China this weekend, how about an update?

Hello LunarisDream

Since you don't respond to pm's or the forum on (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=80649.0) ZZ96 i'm writing here.

I am not the only one that have problems with trying to contact you from the ZZ96 GB.

I am still waiting over 6 months for your answer how we can resolve the defect ZZ96 board I got from you.

Last response I got from you was Wed, 25 January 2017, 19:51:00, after you said you wanted to help me resolve this you started ignoring my PM's.

So I guess I'm not the only one with a defective PCB. As someone posted here (sorry on my cell phone) the winkeyless pcb's and their clones fit perfect and work better using the bootmapper client. Still not sure about the rgb strips because if you add 2 strips of 5 you will be hitting 30 rgb lites so I have yet to do that. So people with dead PCBs there is a option.

On that note I was able to reflow the entire PCB with all new parts and still no dice in getting it working so there must be a serious defect with the PCB and the PCB does not seem like it was designed for this case exclusivly ( the strange rgb lites installed where the TriC logo is for example) so maybe these were b stock or something.

After an extended leave of absence from the web due to personal issues, I have five refunded orders for TriC75 - Brevis that are available to ship immediately from China (about 5 days from payment to arrival).

Well, this just happened.

The extra I bought on Reddit landed already. So, they do exist and he is shipping them.

Received mine today via DHL, looks great, bit of a wait on this one but it finally showed up, so no real complaints here.  I've developed very low expectations for group buys so anything that actually shows up is a basically a success.  Pics some other time, the tric keycap is a nice bonus.

Got mine today too. Haven't had a chance to test the PCB yet or anything, but it looks like all the pieces are there. It took a while for sure!

Mine came today, and while the box looks like it was dragged behind a bus everything *appears* to be ok. I've not yet tested it as I used the switches on another KB project after having given up on this GB, but it does look ok.

I would suggest LunarisDream NEVER run another group buy. Clearly he's not capable of managing one efficiently, and his communication has been terrible. I just pray everything works as I really don't want to try and get anything replaced by him.

Mine arrived today. The small bag for the screws and feet split, so there were screws in the outer courier packing (outside of the cardboard box). Be careful not to quickly throw all of your packing away!

The case, plate, and PCB are all immaculate though, so thatís my only issue (so far, need to test the PCB!)

He's run a few groupbuys now and at the end of the day, people receive their boards and are happy (pretty sure the zz96 gb went relatively well).. the same cannot be said for soo many gbs out there. The guy had his internet access restricted, then he made a public apology and followed through. I think we should be appreciative of his efforts as opposed to insulting..

LD dropped the ball on communication.
But I got a board in the end.

I joined at the start of this buy (number 9) and another group buy at around the same time, and right now there's a decent amount of communication in that buy, but have yet to receive a board with no real end in sight.
IMHO I much prefer the former of these cases.

I tested my PCB and itís fine, the LEDs work and the keys register.

I also tested screw-in stabs, mine are Zeal. They fit under the plate and donít short traces on the board, so Iím going to use them.

Was thinking of doing exactly/similar to this, but I'm not sure if these are the same type - https://zealpc.net/collections/switches/products/gold-plated-hot-swap-sockets-for-pcbs

Are they screw in? I don't mind soldering but just wondering if these would work for hot swap switch capability.

Got my 2nd kit the other day, had the same issue--screws loose inside the box, but at least all there. First kit was assembled and everything was in place. Getting sloppy.

I meant stabilisers rather than hot swap sockets, but I actually used hot swap sockets on this build as well and they work. Mine arenít from Zeal though

I received a grey kit earlier this week and can confirm the doc is still being updated. I actually received a DHL Express text notification first before I checked the doc, where I saw that the entry had been updated to "Submitted for shipping".

I haven't had a chance to test yet, but the grey case definitely looks very nice. I also didn't have any of the issues with loose screws in the packaging.

No LunarisDream, no. Bad.

I'll get in touch with PayPal to see what they can do (and sorry for the sudden outburst, I was pretty calm two minutes ago)
