I will try to keep chronological order like in mine otd wiki, but if i will uncover something interesting from old days during making of this write-up - i will add additional posts.
So, for better understanding i would need to introduce you into keyboard communities of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine and other countries, how they work and etc. Mostly, they were hosted as chats and groups in VK (Russian Facebook analog) or Telegram. As one of the main communities :
Mechcult. Mechcult as chat was founded around 2016, i cant really trace the first messages of group, because it seems that all messages were deleted back in june of 2017. However, as tightly-knitted community it was established during 2018-2019 period with The Mch (a.k.a Mikhalych) and others, when it started to have form of something bigger than just group of people. The mechcult was really engaged in keyboards as in hobby (no surprise), and many people you might know like Zyxxke (space invader and alps deskmat author), Gvalch'ca & Jugizafupe (authors of SpaccBoard60 pcb), cool collectors like Damonskv and others, ergo-split keyboard enthusiats like Joric (Author of Jorne) and KGOH (KgOfHedgehogs, author of Jian), and ofc Watchman (РИСАТЕНО author) and Krikun (after of Skean and etc) were from Mechcult. Enormous amounts of enthusiasm! I wasnt part of Mechcult back in the day, even though i participate in their telegram group, so i missed most of it. Chat had interesting reputation, being rough in some parts, but there was nothing better than it, back in the day. Right now, mechcult is mostly inactive since shatter of it around july of 2023, when the people who didnt like state of it decided to make new chat, Keebcult, i will tell about it next.

Keebcult. Keebcult is also chat in telegram, more organised and maybe even more presented as brand than Mechcult. It's still alive and considered the main hub of russian-speaking keyboard community right now, newcomers and enthusiasts "live under one roof" and contribute to hobby together. Most of the best RU keyboard projects were born under keebcult wing, and i will tell about those projects here, of course. Regarding the history of it, Keebcult was founded in July of 2023 by Sensetrigger, during the creation of it the main focus was to make really "free" community for people who still had enthusiasm for the hobby. Most of mechcult active members transferred into Keebcult, and the chat started to get "huge" media presence (in russian-speaking pc and peripherals enthusiasts world), which made high number of newcomers get into the hobby deeper. Some of the members already try to post meetups and other stuff on reddit to know english-speaking community better, and ive also decided to support their enthusiasm with this article.

Ниче Такой Сет/Niche Takoy Set (A.K.A Such A Nice Set, NTS) - It was a small group in vk, chat around 40 people, it was the first kb community were i was a member. No huge projects, just cool chatting about Hobby. I remember how i ranted about WKL when i was newcomer, back in 2021/2020?? It was founded by Pearlpoint (Misha Markin, a.k.a Flipsina and etc). It was really a group about memes, but everyone was a enthusiast, for real. The name goes from GMK Taro, especially after it yellow accents, the naming "such a nice set" sticked to it so hard, that the NTS was founded.
And the local jargon. Lots of unique slang is a feature of russian-speaking communities for sure.
Here are two most popular words: Anek and Rygachka.
"Anek - A newbie with a claim to "expertise" or someone asking questions that have been discussed countless times in the chat (and whose answers are easily found via Google or chat search). It dates back to the time of the Mechcult and literally means "walking anecdote"."
"Rygachka - Rygachka is a good group-buy keyboard, usually expensive. It must be made out of metal. The example where it all started is the GSKT-00."

Hi Friends,
Thank for following this project for so long. Back in 2021, we ran a GB for Mammoth75 , it might be the first custom keyboard that has a whole piece of Mirror PVD bottom case, and the first custom keyboard with a big volume knob design. It was a very bold design and we didn't expect there were so much interested in it and keep asking for Mammoth75 V2 after delivery. There were friends asked us to recolor Mammoth75 and run a R2, but we think it should be an once-in-a-lifetime design for our community and we didn't do this. However, we keep getting requirements asking and seriousely we knew we must give another trial. There were design ideas we couldn't achieve from Mammoth due to manufacturing limitation at that time and there new ideas we gain gradually from our community.
From Mammoth to Nama
We pick the name "Nama" from "Paleoloxodon namadicus", it's the largest fossil elephant and one of the largest land mammals, by size, it's bigger and strongger than Mammoth. But Nama is not desgned with the idea for a "V2" by size, it is created to embrace our custom keyboard's manufacturing skill's progress during the past years and rekindle the spark in a hardcore keyboard enthusiasts' heart. It's heavy, stable and reliable.
Ticking and Typing
Like mechanical keyboards, watches possess a distinct beauty of their own, and we integrated that beauty into Nama. With the prototype, we discovered that winding the watch spring was the most enjoyable moment. The ticking of the watch conveyed the flow of time, while our fingertips typed out the rhythm of each precious second.
But then we asked ourselves: why were the clock hands necessary? We chose to remove them before finalizing the design, and we knew we were right. The continuously rotating gears remind us that the present moment is the best. Just enjoy the movement.

Warming: No quick-assembly ball catch system on Nama!
In order to give the most stable ane secured structure, we decided to use tradictional screw-in system, to make the board as seamless as possible. We do not give quick assemly ball-catch system for this reason. Please check Nama structure belowed:

Difference between the NAMA Standard Edition and the Bespoke Edition
Avaible for Public GB
- The NAMA Standard Edition comes in a fixed configuration for the top and bottom cases, though the movement edition is selectable. It does not include switches and keycaps.
Priority given to our Preciouse Wuque old friends, who had support us ever since 2020.
- The NAMA Bespoke Edition offers full customization, allowing you to choose the top case, bottom case, movement edition, plate, sound-dampening foam kit, you can also choose or not to choose switches or keycaps available from Wuque offical website and have your Nama prebuilt. If you choose available switches and Keycaps from Wuque website, the added cost will be 80 USD more as a bundle.
We have to say that Nama is more a design we create for our community, who comes along with us from Ikki68 (thanks again to Ikki68 OG guys!), Aurora, Mammoth, all the way till today. 1) Please add alt homing F J H U N T to the Base kit. They're in the 40s kit, but alt layouts are used on larger keyboards too.
2) While a fully-convex bottom row looks cool, pinkies slip off convex keycaps. Thumbs don't want sharp edges, but pinkies are like the other six fingers and work best with a dish.
So, for 1- I absolutely can do that. It's an easy fix, as it's simply four additional keys to the base kit. Scooped FJ is already in base, so I need to add scooped HUNT.
For 2, I am typing on PBS Aperture right now, and I found the convex bottom row comfy- as PBS convex is much softer than other profiles.
I will be making other tweaks, based on the initial responses to the IC- mainly adding an additional 1.25 and 1.5u shift to the 40s kit. For the novelty kit, I am considering adding a 1.75u novelty either for Caps for a "normie" board or enter on a 12u 40s board.
I will be adding the regional base kits, based on vendor interest. To Whit, I am going to spend some time designing an ISO/ANSI-DE basekit.

« Last post by Kaptain Mike on Mon, 01 December 2025, 18:47:32 »We’ve made a small, favorable change to the Extension Kit. An extra 00 key has been replaced with a standard “2” key that pairs directly with the Base Kit.
Replacing the dark 00 with a standard "2" key is great, especially since there is no dark Numpad support. Could you add a dark standard "2" so dark alpha people are covered too?
We won’t be adding a dark red standard “2” since that would change pricing and we’re already mid-GB. It’s also a design choice, I want the set to stay visually identifiable as Cherry Love. The only reason I’m adding the standard “2” in the base alphas is because it’s a simple 1u-for-1u swap and it’ll make a few people happy. Otherwise I wouldn’t add it. And honestly, I don’t think more than 1% of people see the forced heart as a dealbreaker. Who hates hearts?!
