Geekhack Fundraiser Auction - Bro Caps V2 MX
« on: Fri, 10 July 2015, 15:54:40 »
As it was mentioned here, Geekhack servers now need money to run. We were fortunate enough to have free hosting until now. I'm auctioning two of my Bro Caps and will donate all of the money to Geekhack to keep the servers running and to Absyrd for his niece's fund.

Left is a Patriot Bro Bot V2. Right is a Toxic (from the first Toxic offering) Bro Bot V2.

Please consider bidding as it will all go to a good cause. Thanks!

Two things everyone:

1) If you are international, yes I will ship to you. But you are responsible for paying all associated costs. If I see that on Paypal I'll invoice them or contact them through eBay. Otherwise if I recognize the username, I'll PM them on Geekhack.

2) This already has raised much more money than I expected it would. I will now be splitting the funds between Geekhack and absyrd's fund for his niece.

Much respect to you for this CptBadAss.  I told myself I wouldn't pay more than retail for my first Bro and have been trying in the past 4 sales.  But I feel this is a good way to get my first bro and giveback to the community at the same time.  Will be watching the auctions closely.

I was thinking these caps would be a bit too expensive for me to bid on, especially with me being out of a job currently, but seeing the good it could do for GH member's family, I think I'll be placing some bids.

Thank you CPT for donating the extra money.

Or you could just buy a T-shirt for a fraction of the price and I will contribute $5 of it to Geekhack.

"Starting in 2011, the deficits again started to shrink. During Obama’s term  the deficit was reduced by $900 Billion  before finally in 2015 the GOP managed to wrangle a “reconciliation” bill out of Obama where he again cut corporate taxes, as well as made permanent some of George W. Bush’s original tax cuts. This is the year everything reversed. Before this, under Clinton, Bush and Obama the deficit in almost every year was gradually decreasing. The balance we had of taxes and the economy was bringing the deficit down, the money coming in was slowly catching up with the money going out until 2015. Trump’s subsequent tax cut has continued the new trend even after the rest of Bush’s cuts have since expired. Obama had an average GDP of 2.3%, with 11.6 million jobs created and unemployment peaking at 10% in 2009, then falling to 4.3% in 2016. If we had continued on that downward deficit track, we would have again reached balance and another surplus in 2017-2018.

Just an FYI on what's going on with this in case anyone is wondering. I'm new to selling stuff on eBay. I've only ever sold two items before this auction. Because of this, eBay is holding my money until the Bots are delivered? So the transactions were completed but I don't actually have the money in my Paypal or bank account. I'm not actually sure when I get paid. Supposedly I may have to wait up to 21 days before the money is released to me? Anywho, the Bots should be delivered soon and hopefully I get paid soon.

Paypal did this to me too on my first sales. If you put the shipping information in paypal under the transaction, and then have the person who receives the cap go in and mark that they received it then you will get your money within a day or two of that.

One of the two sales cleared and I've donated to Geekhack. Waiting for the other sale to clear so I can donate to absyrd.

I finally got the last of the funds released to me. All parties have been donated to. Please feel free to contact them to confirm if you're so inclined. I'm going to lock the thread. :)
