Minorca and Sebright design evolution thread

Figured this would be good for posterity, if anyone gives a **** about the design progression involved with these boards.

I'll start with a few pics and update with theory as time allows.



Mk. I Sebright and Minorca with the non-standard stagger and bent acrylic cases.



Mk. I Sebright glamour shot.



Mk. 0 Minorca prototype with Deep Space on the top, Mk. III Sebright with the bent steel case and SA Carbon on the bottom.



Mk. V Minorca with Jukebox



Mk. VI Minorca with some sweet artisans. Not pictured: My purple cheddarcap because it was sprucing up a different build.

New prototype!

PCB project is coming along incredibly well. I'm getting new protos done with additional edits to the case, but these are going to include an integrated switchplate and optional diffuser.

More pics to come. I'm working on the "henhouse" (backers edition) builds. I'm QCing, blasting, sanding, color treating, assembling, more QCing, and testing them all out before they roll out the door.

Minorca and Sebright 40% milled aluminum prototypes have landed, and they look great!

  • Aluminum frame and base
  • 4° incline
  • Top mount switchplate
  • Switchplate supporting both Minorca and Sebright layouts
  • Hotswap PCB supporting both Minorca and Sebright layouts
  • USB-C PCB terminal
  • QMK firmware
  • Frosted acrylic diffuser
  • Support for additional layouts is possible
  • Beta testers will be putting them through their paces. Looking forward to feedback.
