Tipro FREE 96 not working
« on: Tue, 14 May 2019, 06:49:47 »
Hey guys! Recently I purchased a Tipro FREE 96 (Model TM-KMX-096A-C15) with the idea to use it as macro pad. The problem is that it seems to not be working, when I plug it in I am getting just a "Generic USB Hub" inside Device Manager that is flagged with the warning exclamation mark. Tried updating drivers and such but nothing really helped. I am connecting it via USB type B cable from the board itself into regular USB that is going to my PC. I was only able to find one cable like this one at my home (purchased it without a cable) and sadly I can't guarantee that the cable is 100% working. Anybody experienced something similar that might give some ideas how to fix the issue? Do you think that it might be because of the cable, or the possibility of the cable not working since the device is being detected is slim to none? Any help/feedback is appreciated.

In the meantime I think that I will message the seller to check if he knows if the keyboard was working whatsoever or it was just dead beforehand.

Keyboard image for reference:

Long time no see!

I think these boards might require proprietary drivers.

I've got a similar one and couldn't get it to work on modern windows os.

I'm also thinking these might need ps2 and 32bit os to work properly depending on model.

Wow Spam, can't believe you remember me! I have been lurking for a few days now that I have kind of gotten back into this hobby and started purchasing some interesting/cheap boards off of ebay. In regards to the board - I have downloaded the driver listed on the official page (here) and the board is supposed to work on windows 10 with no issues but I sincerely hope that it might be something as easy as cable/driver that is f-ing things up for me.

Hmm yeah this one seems newer than what I had.

I'm not really sure then maybe someone else who is familiar will chime in.

And bro I never forget people who send me one of a kind custom keycaps.

Did you get anywhere with this? I've got a Tipro Free 64 with exactly the same issue. Showing up as a hub in Linux/Mac but no keyboard/HID, and in windows shows up as a hub with an error.
