Hello members of the geekhack community,

I am looking to make a custom mechanical keyboard and I am wondering if you guys can give me any recommendations for brands, parts, etc. I want to use:

TKL formfactor
NovelKeys Cream Switches (MX mounting style)
Plate mounted switches
GMK Screw-in Stabilizers (I heard these were good but if there are alternatives, let me know)
Silver case (Aluminum)
Red Plate (Not nearly as important but would be cool)

I primarily need help finding which PCB/Plate/Case would suit this set up. Any help would be much appreciated!

I am pretty new here as well, but from the digging i have done i found the glorious GMMK (the custom seems to either not be on sales anymore or they do have site issues) but it is full black with rgb and got pcb mount stabilizers, and the KBrepublic XK87 (https://kprepublic.com/products/xd87-xd87-xd80-custom-mechanical-keyboard-kit80-supports-tkg-tools-support-underglow-rgb-pcb-programmed-gh80-kle), but still black and i do not even know how the stabilizers are mounted.
Those where the cheap-ish options i found while researching to build a tkl layout board but the choices are limited it seems, there is way more options in the 60% style, and even less in the 101/102 keys style (only found the custom gmmk).
And i guess that you could paint a plate if you really wanted it red.

Be careful with the KPRepublic XD87. I think it has switches facing the opposite direction than they're supposed to. This causes compatibility issues with Cherry-profile keycaps.

Honestly, I think the XD87 is a little below the 'basic' quality level people should be aiming for, even on a first build. It's too bad you missed out on the KBD8x mk ii GB, don't know if it uses plate-mounted stabs though. There's a TKL in Europe that's experiencing a GB right now, can't remember the name.
